Yeah, I can see how it's boring.
I try to always make sure my characters have flaws.
Listening to people critique OCs helped.
However, they'd subtract points if a character had an unnatural hair color.
I found that ridiculous.
Having pink hair isn't something that destroys the character or the story.
It's very meaningless thing to complain about to me.

I don't even remember the last actual book I read.
I mean I bought these two books that have words and pictures in them:
Yokai Attack!: The Japanese Monster Survival Guide
Yurei Attack!: The Japanese Ghost Survival Guide
I LOVE these two books.
I love the way they're written and the art too.
I've read them both many times.
I really wish they'd come out with more...

Why would they substract points for having an unnatural hair color? Would they do the same for unnatural skin color, or for unnatural eye color... or for having three eyes or four arms?
I dunno, seems pretty random.

I usually like reading.
Lately I have not read much tbh, because I've been spending time on the internet reading about gerbils :mccool:

I don't know how I missed this thread .__.

I have no idea. I guess because it's not realistic enough xD

I used to read a lot when I was a kid, but the older I got - the less I liked reading. Wouldn't even read stuff for school - I'd just skim over it.
I learn better by watching anyways. Not reading.

I don't read nearly as much as I used to. But I used to be a real bookworm!
Now I only read for pleasure, and it's still a pleasurable activity for me.
Specially right before bedtime, when I'm already in my PJs.

I liked going to the library when I was a kid.
I liked that it was quiet and there were a lot of scary books that I'd take out multiple times.
I'd read and reread them over and over.
I remember a lot of the stories to this day too.

I took out this one that had scary stories from different parts of the world.
I took out this one that was all about African horror stories.
I took out this one that was called something like..."Witches, Ghosts, and Werewolves".

I miss those books. I wish I had managed to buy them somehow.
I'll never see them again xD

So you've been into horror stories since childhood!

I guess it makes sense.
I did not like them as a child, I still don't like them as a grown up.
It's not an acquired taste, either you've liked it or not your whole life.

I don't remember if I told you about it, but I posted it in one of these threads...
When I was a kid, my dad would tell me stories at night before bed.
Well, we went to this library and I took a childrens horror book out and asked him to read it to me at night.
It was about this mean uncle who took in his niece and nephew and was mean to them.
He ended up killing them and he was later found dead with his hear ripped out.
I don't remember the name of the book and I've never found it again.
I asked my dad if he remembered it and he said "I read that to you!? No wonder you're so fucked up 8U"

Yeah, I was in that thread in which you mentioned that story.
Definetely not the kind of thing I would read to my son. He's super sensitive.
Yesterday he was devastated because he forgot a plushie at his grandparents' place!
