Now how are you learning Galician? Do you have one of the dual-language dictionaries which don't actually define words so much as translate them? Or do you use an online translator when you get caught? Or do you know someone who speaks it and ask them when you get stuck?
Or are you taking a class?
Or...????

I am Galician :mclaugh:
I just tend to read more in Spanish and English, I guess I always find more of what I'm looking for in those languages, and I've noticed I hardly ever read in Galician anymore.
Hence the challenge.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha, you have the simplest method yet, then. You already know the language. :qlol:
I'm constantly surprised at how easy it is to find books in English no matter where in the globe I happen to be. Then Spanish and Mandarin, then Arabic, then Russian.... I need to pick up a few more languages.

That's the only method I would consider right now.
Learning a new language is out of the question at this moment in my life.

Eh, it's fun to grab a dictionary and a children's book sometimes, and attempt a new language.

I will admit that for a shamefully long time I kept reading "Galician" as "Galatian" and wondering why such an obscure dead language....
The fact that I thought of the dead language first is quite puzzling.

Hahaha, that would be certainly strange.
I'm glad I studied a bit of Latin, but that's as far as I'm willing to go with dead languages.

Galatians were Celtic as well, so probably the name is related. No wonder it's confusing.

Logged into my goodreads account because I was curious when exactly I started the book I've been reading since I hadn't touched it since the first week or so from when I started. It was October. smh. At least most of it will be read in 2022.

I finished my first book of 2022. It was Fall on Your Knees by Ann-Marie MacDonald. I have read it a few times before.

And I finished my second book too. It was About Alice by Calvin Trillin.

I started them both in 2021 (I actually started About Alice in January 2021...), so I was almost done with them anyway, and About Alice was also a very short book.

Do we have a "to be read" thread somewhere? It'd be nice to have a place to keep track of what I'm trying to get through....

I use my first post on here as a kind of tracker. But I also use goodreads as my main way of tracking books and the like. I have a specific list on there that I have the books I want to read next or near future on there to help me keep track. Otherwise who knows I would probably have a ton of series with just the first book read of them. There's other features like keeping progress on page count and the like that I don't really use. If you don't care joining up to another website you can give goodreads a try.
