That title is adorable :mclove:

And I finished that chapter :mccool: I'm actually looking forward to the next parts of that book. If my mind doesn't get too overwhelmed and I keep a steady pace I might actually finish it by the end of the month.

Keep it up, memoriam! :qstar:

I've checked the reviews on the Dancing Cats book, because the title is awesome.
Apparently some people love it, while others think it's extremely plain.
It's one of those books you either love or hate :mclaugh:

I'm considering to give up reading one book I'm in the middle of.
It's so hard for me doing it, aaaarggghhh! :ql:

I used to have trouble giving up on books. But I read a lot less now than I used to, so I feel like I don't have much choice anymore! If I hate a book OR if I get to the halfway point and feel like nothing is really happening and I don't really care about anyone, then I give up on it.

I'm stubborn and will always finish a book I started. Will I not read it for months at a time? Yes. Will I eventually finish it? Yes. I think it's mostly because I buy the books and not go to a library to borrow. One of these years I'll go and get a membership and start borrowing books again.

I've always been the stubborn reader too.
I don't know, I feel like any book can get better - maybe I'm missing something good if I read a bit longer?

I'm trying to be a bit more sensible regarding giving up books.
But it requires quite an effort.

Yeah. I will passionately hate read. I remember one book I read years ago I wanted to read, but it was stupid. HATED EVERY MOMENT OF IT! It was so ridiculous and the more I read the more I found it stupid and the more I disliked it. I wanted to love it so much, but it ended up just getting worse and worse the more I read. But people must have loved it because I think it was a 3-4 book series.

I bet I would have an easier time giving up a book if it was borrowed. lol. Like just take it back to the library and won't have to think about it ever again.

I used to go to the library a lot. I haven't been in a while, but I get my books either free or really cheap through swapping or fill a bag book sales. I actually haven't been to a book sale in a long time either, but I still have tons of books that I haven't read yet from past sales!

I currently read more e-books than physical ones, many of them I either got from my library or quite cheap online (Kindle deals, StoryBundle, etc).
So for me it's not about their cost.
I just... can't give them up.
I keep reading and reading, and as Rubie said disliking them more as I pushed it too far v_v

One (late) new year resolution: giving up books I don't like!

I did it. I finished the book on HSPs. I'm highkey proud, although I was reading it as an excuse to not do more important stuff :mcheh: And it was only three chapters or so.
Luckily the other books from the list (aside from #2) don't need to be read in one sitting. I should actually keep them on some kind of daily limit to process all the info.
Spoiler: TBR update
1. E. N. Aron The Highly Sensitive Person <PL translation>
2. T. Adeyemi Children of Virtue and Vengeance <EN>
3. B. Baranowski W kręgu upiorów i wilkołaków. Demonologia słowiańska <PL>
4. Y. Boland Moonology: Working with the Magic of Lunar Cycles <PL translation>
5. D. Morrison Everyday Sun Magic: Spells & Rituals for Radiant Living <PL translation>
Now on the topic of giving up books, I usually don't. I instead analyze the author's mistakes and try to learn from them to avoid them in my writing. Even though I'm not actively writing... I did once give up on a series because it was getting ridiculous. I still finished the last book I was reading from that series.
Also think it's harder to give it up if you actually bought the book. I don't have any library membership, maybe I should try that.
