Kingdom of Knuffel

I was wondering if anyone could tell me when (date) Candy Island was open for Knuffel digging and when the first set of avatar items where added please.
If there is a link to the original announcement to that would be great.

Candy Island was a feature introduced in January 2010.

The first set of items was released a few months later, in April 2010.
