Question for Text Based RPGers

Its not really a thread to RP in, but I really wanted to pick yalls brain.

I love in depth storyline and worlds, but recently on a different site, came across this really full functioning looking game! Empires, family lines, history, the whole 9 yards. I put in my application, wanting to connect with other players to build previously established storylines, but once I got in, the game felt... hollow. The details I saw for the world building and setting didn't translate to the players in the game. It just didn't feel like a fun game, so I left.

Once I did some snooping, it turned out the GMs of the game used a bunch of AI programs to fluff up their world and background information. And it made me realize that I wasn't drawn in my the GMs imagination, but what the AI had written.

As a player or GM, do you ever use AI to write things for you in spice up the game? I felt like it completely destroyed the game for me, and seeing as it soon died, I think they moved on and left the site as it wasn't what seem to jive with other players.

Sorry, maybe I am old school. Just curious about your thoughts.

The one time my father showed me AI for writing I noticed that it throws up cliches. Because that's what AI is made of, an aggregate of data, so it will come up with the most common ways to use language and ideas. There's no novelty, freshness or innovation with it. You need human creativity for that.

So I don't use AI for writing. I don't really get stuck with writing (just lose energy for a while and need to rest and return), so I don't find the need to use it for inspiration, either.

I thought I was of a different mind- glad they were the outliners.
