I've never read "The Ocean at the End of the Lane", I should find that one!

He really does have a lot of versatility; not many authors span such disparate styles and topics. It's pretty impressive!

Today I've been trying to get through Spencer's "Faerie Queen" because I keep coming across references to it, but I've been thoroughly spoiled by modern continuity editors -the incoherence of this "plot" is driving me batty.
I'm not sure I'm going to make it all the way through. >.<

Looked up that Faerie Queen (I don't know a lot of classic English literature) but I think it would not be for me.
Poetry always makes reading so much harder for me.

Uh.

I put down "Bridge at Remagen". Again.

But I picked back up the Faerie Queen and this time I'm most of the way through it!

I'm really not sure it's going to "end" though, I get the feeling there's no possible way for these threads to all get tied up. I suspect it's just going to abruptly stop somehow instead of properly wrapping up.
Plot archs are a real thing, Mr Spencer!!!! I hope in your next life you were born into a time with proper editors! You have potential but you're driving me batty! (....more batty.)

I've just started a little book titled "For a rose".
Three short stories, each a different retelling of the Beaty and the Beast from a completely different approach.
We'll see how good it is...

Was not bad.
I had only heard of one of the authors, and that one was disappointing.

Now I've started to read Wreck of the Forst Finch, which is apparently book #0 of a series.
I assume that means it's some sort of prologue, as the book itself is not very long.

But, hey, you made me notice I haven't posted here in a while, so it's all good :D

I'm currently reading Virginia Woolf's Orlando.
Because, yes, I had never read it before. So it's time due I do read it.

Finished Orlando, which was a good book but I did not love it.
Also read a juvenile faery novel, titled Faery Novice, which was not bad.
And a cooking-related book titled Why spaghetti bolognesa do not exist?

And now I'm onto Circe, by Madeline Miller.
Very promising.
