I imagined if such "lottery" would only give a slight chance of getting some really old items, maybe it would have a potential to be a food drain. For example if wild knuffels would randomly give out a random older item (just like we randomly get frosted donuts while posting outside of CC), people might keep spending food for re-rolling WK items just to get the odd chance of finding an older MT/TT item.

From what I can see looking at random old MT items for example, users usually try to sell them for around what these items sold for in the past and it was also my own experience, as I was auctioning these items off, not selling them for high FC prices.
As said, there does not seem to be a real demand for old items, because we have an over-supply of old MT and TT sets.
To give you a random example: The Pisces Set from 2014 (I don't have data from TT sales prior to 2014) exists 186 times, the Lionheart set from last month exists 28 times. I don't think more old items is what this community wants or needs.

If there is an old item you want to get, just tell me which one it is, and I'll put it in the marketplace with my HerUgliness account - However, I won't auction it off anymore, but sell it for the highest price it sold for in the past. I don't want to devalue old items any more.

By "exists" do you mean there are this many accounts with these particular items? Maybe the older ones are higher in quantity but the owners are inactive and thus it's hard to come by these items being up for sale?
I don't have the full picture of the situation, so I'm just speculating here. I'm sure you know better what the community needs

I think my wishlist has too many old items in it, so maybe it's not a great idea to bombard you with a list of items I want. And don't take this personally, but for some reason you seem very intimidating to me, maybe it's the "authority" vibe Besides, I wouldn't even know where to start And even besides that, I'm afraid I might be too poor to buy them (even though I think I'm the wealthiest I've ever been, haha).

Short and hopefully not an annoying question, but are there any new wild knuffel items planned?

I know that you have a scheduled plan on what items come when, so I am just curious if there might come an update on those.^^

I would like to make new Wild Knuffel items, but there haven't really been many new Wild Knuffel submitted in the past year/s (and if people make Wild Knuffel, they have to grant me permission to do base items on them, which not all users do), so I don't really have much to base these items on. It's not that there haven't been any new Wild Knuffel at all, but not every Wild Knuffel is offering suitable items.

We have no pipes.
Or magnifying lenses.

We have shoulder capes and hats and shirts that I can make work, but....

Sherlock Holmes as a character is public domain, including the early illustrations of him, so...

Could we have a set?

Like a background item of footprints in a path,
and a caped overcoat
And a deerstalker cap
And a pipe held in the hand
With a second hand-held item of a magnifying lens
And a second pipe option that's a mouth item because it's held in the mouth.
Maybe a stagecoach background!
Or a foggy-London background (although the Suburban Scenery background works pretty well)
Or a Hound of the Baskervilles pet!
Or a giant-sized fingerprint as a wallpaper pattern!
OOoh, you could do a background that makes it look like a book cover, so the avatar is the image on the book cover! With a spine running up one side and a hint at the pages on the other.
Hmm, or a newsprint background. It would be a lot of fun to write the headlines for that background. "Wuffel Escapes Capture Again!" "Predicted Food Shortages!" "Why Is The King Angry Today?" "Frostland Coast Weather for the Week: Cold and Snowy!" "Want Ads: Alchemist Requests Ingredients!"
