What is everyone's take on nail art?

continuing our conversation from before xD

man, it sounds like you're pretty advanced when it comes to nail art *o* 3D molds?!
i like making simple patterns like hearts and circles... and recently into nail stickers because it's easy xD

The molds are super simple! They're these tiny silicon molds of shapes like bows and whatnot, and you just need to fill them with a mix of color gel + builder gel and then cure it with the lamp.

oh my gosh that second one is very cute, i love nude/soft colors!!

how easily do they come off? because i'm imagining something 3D on the nails and if it gets stuck on, say, clothes, it might easily come off?

I am totally clueless when it comes to painting nails. When I was a teenager, I used to paint my nails chrome to look cool. But it mostly involved me painting half my fingertip, then wiping the excess off with nail polish remover and q-tips.

If you stick it on really well with builder gel and wrap the edges, they don't come off AT ALL. Both times I've done those nails I ended up having to use clippers and some aggressive filing to get them off XD

That was my nail painting process when I was a teenager too!! I got into nail art near the end of my undergrad as a way to stop myself from biting my nails to death

Those look adorable!
They also look like something that would break off after about two minutes if I tried it personally, but so long as that part is someone else's problem it's a lot of fun to admire that!!

I've never been very good at nail stuff (mine are always kept trimmed down completely), but I do admire it, and for weddings and suchlike I'll sometimes give it a try.

My one cousin, though -she's really good. And my older sister's not half-bad, too, but she's more prone to using the little stick-on gem things than molds


But I climb too many trees and get my hands in the dirt too often and trying to use the scrollsaw or the jig saw while sporting that would give me a heart attack, so.... no molds!!

Paints are nice and flat, but even they already chip and flake off ridiculously fast.

I had a roommate briefly in college who did nails down at the salon down the street as her part-time job; she did my nails once.
At the end of the day, she looked at the state they were in and told me I did not properly respect her art and she wasn't doing my nails ever again, had I purposely tried to ruin them? I still have no idea what I should have done differently, but they were certainly a mess, so I just nodded meekly and made her some apology cinnamon rolls. And then hoped desperately I didn't get any nail polish flakes in the dough.
