@Chrizine: Not always they are on your side tho. Not all siblings have goor relationships. I used to have a great relationship with my sister before she met her husband. It went down hill from there on. I was told I'm just jealous that someone is stealing my sister. But that's not it at all. He brought up the worst in her, things I would have never noticed if she hadn't moved out. Now I don't even want to look at her and can't stand hearing her voice.

I'd love to have learned to be independent and just rely on myself when it's tough. I'm now learning the hard way. (Also youngest child here, also in the whole family - although now we have 2 babies in the family so I guess not anymore XD)

Sure, that's just what it was like for me.
Like, when our parents were fighting, we still had each other.
And I guess I got lucky with my brother-in-law a lot compared to you. I really like him and since they have been together since their teenage years and we have the big age difference I've known him since I was a kid and he's very close to being an actual brother to me.

But yeah, I'm the young child that probably is not too great at being self-reliant as well.

My sister and her husband also know each other from their teenage years. Though late teens, 18 I think. I was 13/14 then and the moment I met him, I hated him. He was fake and even said he'd want to be like a brother to me. Me: lol, nope, you're weird and disgusting. He even offered to our mom to call her 'mom', and she was like "lol nope, it's not something you ask and not so early". It was back when they were only dating. He was kind of pesky.

I think she was just overwhelmed by his attitude and in slight bliss for anyone paying any attention to her. It may seem I've done the same with my boyfriend (both my sister and I only had one relationship, her with her husband, me with Ash), but at least I stayed true to my standards. Though maybe I just didn't know hers, who knows that. Maybe she was just a good actress all her life, Idunno ;/ I don't really want to talk about it, makes me nostalgic and kinda sad. I'm overthinking things again. But at least I'm not considering actually making up with her. I don't want to anymore.

I feel the same about Ash. But I'm having a strong impression my family starts to think it's because of him that I'm rebelling against their opinion. I don't know, but I've had my mom ask me such things a few times already, like "is he poisoning you with this stuff?". No, I have my own opinions, mom, thanks for believing I have a brain

I'm sorry to hear your family was torn apart as well. In my experience, the other party will always stick to their own side of the story and put you in the worst light possible. I'm not going badmouthing anyone. But my sister and her husband went all around grandma's family, badmouthing her, my mom and me. As far as we know, my sister only let her husband speak, but that's releasing her form the blame. And the best part? The whole family believed them and turned against granny. So yay. Of course they said we're the bad guys, while they never mentioned their own faults. That's typical.

I love my brothers so much <3 And I love my sister-in-law. We get along pretty well. Although we do not see each other often.
I grew up with only one brother though, the oldest two (10 and 14 years difference) are my stepbrothers. My "real" brother is almost 7 years older than me. We had our fights when I was 10-14, but it got better and better. I think we are on very good terms since I am about 17. And like Chrizine said, when the parents were fighting with one of us or both, we still had each other. Or when they were fighting with each other, we relied on us. Which was very important because my parents fight A LOT.

Although I am the youngest (and the only girl) my parents and brothers never treated me differently. I would actually say everything was a bit stricter for me and tougher..
But that way I am also very independent, because my parents fought a lot I learned to stay away from them, never bother them with things so that I can do everything by myself. I was also oftentimes in charge of others because I am so reliant and responsible.

Why do your parents fight so much? They are still together, right?

I am currently hanging out with one of my male friends more often. We went partying on Friday for example, only the two of us, and we stayed until about 3.30 am. We drank together and danced a lot. And also talked much.

We went out last night as well, with more friends, but they left earlier (at 1.30 already!), but him and I stayed until 4.30 :D So yea, it was fun.
Ugh but guess what, the other 2 (they are together) were SO drunk, they were saying things like "oh come on you two, get your shit together, everyone can see that you like each other, you are made for each other, get together finally!"
And we were like
..................................
........................................
.............................................
Well.
That escalated quickly.
After they left we were like "Damn, they were so drunk" "Yea!" "Unbelievable what rubbish they were talking" "Yea right. Oh man, they had far too many drinks"
And this guy went on "Do you wanna know what he told me?"
Me: "Yea, if you wanna tell me, sure" (And I know exactly what he told him, I could understand every word when the were 'whispering' (whispering in a club, drunk..... :D))
He: "He wanted to set us up!"

I have to admit I like this guy and I really enjoy the time I spend with him and I feel as if he thinks the same.. But I do not whether he or even I have other feelings than friendship for each other. I don't know. I find him really attractive.
Just now I was watching "How I Met Your Mother" when I noticed: He is totally like Ted :D
