Yeah I didn't really get the battle system that well because it was such a departure from the original 3. The original 3 were more turn based RPG's, and that one was more action based with iirc some platformer. I might actually get it better now after having played KH so much, but I dunno. I don't have the game anymore anyways.

I think turned based would have been easier. x'D Sometimes you have to time things right before you can actually hit the other digimon.

Yeah I think that was my biggest issue with it too. I do have the one that came after for consoles though(the data squad one) I just don't recall how it's battle system was like(havn't played much of it yet) the DS ones(except championship which I got bored with) I loved.

The Data Squad one you 'equipped' the evolution you wanted or whatever it was, and it had an evolution map, but I think in order to unlock everything they might have had a new game plus or something. Never beat it though because it was frustrating for me to try and get all the stuff needed for all the evolutions. x'D Even more so when the types the digimon are changed from game to game.

For the DS one there's actually two game with one having two versions, Digimon World DS and Digimon World Dusk/Dawn. And there's actual differences between Dusk and Dawn with the plot and quests besides the available digimon in the game. So there's more differences in that then in the pokemon games which usually have a difference in the pokemon and team that your fighting against as bad guys (referring to Ruby and Sapphire with Emerald being the exception because you got to go up against both).

Yeah I know, I had both Dusk and Dawn and have Digimon World DS. Data squad I never really played much because I just had too many backlogged games(and still do to a point) but it's on my to play list still, sounds like they did at least learn a little bit from 4.

Yeah, they did. But the plot is kind of 'muh'. I would have liked it better if you controlled the digimon itself like in Digimon World 4, but had turn base style without that really world mapping system that cuts out like, half of the attacks because that's what the map eventually ends up doing in Data. I remember a move one of the digimon had but couldn't find it on the map because it kind of went off screen and wouldn't allow you to select things off the screen, then it would appear five matches later as like the only attacks option. .-. That's just a dumb system, and it was kind of on the hard side to raise the friendship on the digimon, it required a ton more grinding and I think there might have been one REALLY hard to find item that raised it. I don't think thee was anything you could buy otherwise. And the funny part is that the event doesn't take place at all int eh story plot because of how things end up going in the anime.

I've yet to see the saver's anime so that actually doesn't bother me on the story since all the other digimon games were stand alone non anime based anyways. The system does sound a bit annoying, but I'm still going to at least attempt to beat it XD.

Edit to add: Savers is what it was called in Japan, I'm so used to referring it to that way that outside of the game, I tend to refer to it as Savers XD.

lol, I know, I watched the entire series in Japanese with English subs. XD I don't know why they changed the name when translating to English, it wouldn't have been any different. :/

(wasn't sure, I know a bunch of people did watch it with the subs, but not all)

Yeah I didn't get the name change either, especially since it's apparently now the norm with Xros Wars being called Fusion now. (may have not seen 5th or 6th season yet but I at least know the names XD)
