I would have liked it better if you controlled the digimon itself like in Digimon World 4, but had turn base style without that really world mapping system that cuts out like, half of the attacks because that's what the map eventually ends up doing in Data. I remember a move one of the digimon had but couldn't find it on the map because it kind of went off screen and wouldn't allow you to select things off the screen, then it would appear five matches later as like the only attacks option. .-. That's just a dumb system, and it was kind of on the hard side to raise the friendship on the digimon, it required a ton more grinding and I think there might have been one REALLY hard to find item that raised it. I don't think thee was anything you could buy otherwise. And the funny part is that the event doesn't take place at all int eh story plot because of how things end up going in the anime.
I've yet to see the saver's anime so that actually doesn't bother me on the story since all the other digimon games were stand alone non anime based anyways. The system does sound a bit annoying, but I'm still going to at least attempt to beat it XD.
Edit to add: Savers is what it was called in Japan, I'm so used to referring it to that way that outside of the game, I tend to refer to it as Savers XD.
