Hart- Shin type is completely practical and very close to being completely ignorant of his own emotions. Mikkousha is almost his opposite. Though it's hard to compare Mikko, Nuke and Morris to Shin, because their pasts and flaws have greatly eroded innate personalities (such as Jung's are suppose to be.)

His girlfriend is still practically minded, but more sensitive to needs and to emotions. Her type is more like a care-giver, though she doesn't like focusing on abstract notions either. She would also rather do, but where Shin would do things like organize, build, command she's more interested in being helpful and providing care and hospitality.

Lune is one of Shin's employees (Mikko's the other one). He spends most of his time day dreaming and goofing off. He's a snob and a brat and he's aware of his flaws, but he doesn't care or think it's all that serious. If his boyfriend stops by he pretty much stops working and plays around with him. Emotionally he's opposite to Shin and very aware of his own emotions, but he can be inpractical and careless.

Lunar- I wasn't sure where this thing about your sister had come from. It was completely random. And I have a computer brain, INTPs are often compared to computers... I'm not a worse case senario, but there's a lot of stuff that'll throw me off. @_@

Zia- Most of my characters I know their earlier life, even if I haven't written it or it wasn't highly important. Some of my characters are like me and some are totally opposite. I like writing opposite characters just to kind of figuratively experience what it's like to be in their heads.

Nuke and Mikko have the same core personality I do (I'm not totally sure with Nuke, but I would says so), they come from very different backgrounds though, but Mikko's an elf and Nuke's a shapeshifter. For both of them their personalities have kind of been eroded by flaws- Mikko because he's just fed up and done; Nuke because's he's fed up, but not quite done. I know how my main characters die, in a way their stories are over, but it's just something I keep in mind.

@Lunar: Aha, well, since people have certain mindsets, it can't be helped, quite. If the OC's too different, I feel like I don't understand them at all --when it gets that far, I don't know how I'd be able to write with them.


@Zia: Aha, yeah, I feel the same; I think I like many characters for their flaws, rather than their redeemable qualities. I know I like Ryohei (from Reborn) because he's so confident in himself, he doesn't realize that there are times he's just being an absolute embarrassment to himself. XD Hikaru (from Hikaru no Go) I liked because he doesn't hesitate to complain and often ends up going with his own interests, but he works hard in spite of that and has times where he shows sacrifice and kindness. Then there's Mihashi who has low self-esteem and is kinda quirky, but I admire his stubbornness and determination. Looking it over, I guess it's not only the flaw, but the way it balances out with the good traits that make the characters so likable. X3

Ah, it's something good to think about; I guess I'll work on that with my own OCs too. After all, I think that's what makes some of my OCs quite likable, though I don't suppose I've thought about it quite as much from that perspective before.

I wonder if Lunar's crazies are more nurture or nature? XD

Hart- She is rather stereotypical I suppose, but that's the personality I thought would be good for her and for Shin. She has the typical damsel flaws, she can be weak willed, too willing to help out, she isn't very clumsy though. She might look for places where she can be of use and make interactions into charity cases. I think she's pretty much the picture of an ISFJ, but she's rather flexible when it comes to people, she isn't worried about time and isn't super organized. I don't know if that puts her more towards extroversion. I don't know how to explain her, she probably strives to be a mini-super hero. She doesn't want the fame, but she wants to rescue everyone.

I feel like I'm talking too much about my OCs. >.<;;

@Nuke: Well, most women are feminine in some aspect or another. I haven't met many who aren't --when I do (online), I tend to mistake them for dudes. XD; Very few and far in-between.

It would make sense that they are together, if they complement each other's personalities. Opposites attract and all.

I have a character with a hero complex of a sort; he was paired up with a boyish sort of character, and as a result, the two have become a cutesy and humorous sort of couple-but-not. XD; It's a running joke that my character keeps trying to find ways to hook up but end up failing.

Also, this is an OC hangout! There is no such thing as talking too much about your OCs; if anything I'm happy to learn more about them. :)


@Lunar: I can write them for secondary and supporting characters, but never for the main one. They don't have the same feel, I think. I feel the same way about female characters. *headfloor*

@Lunar: I was thinking of one thing, and then I thought of another. It happens often as I'm a bit of a ditz.

I tend to think that females are more emotional so when I try to go against that train of thought, it comes out kinda wonky. :X Being more emotional isn't necessarily a negative trait though, so perhaps I should find a way to write them as such without making it so weak. XD;

Hart- I don't like writing gender stereotypical characters, because I feel it's abiding too much by Freudian thought and I hate Freud with more passion than I could ever hope to hate anything else.

She isn't suppose to be stereotypical, but that's how she came out with that personality. I suppose they're opposite in some ways, but they're actually quite similar in how they think and such, they just focus their energies on slightly different things. They're both doers, they're both fairly organized with their time and their decisions, they're both introverted. If I put Shin with someone opposite they'd probably be social, excitable, free-spirited and probably an actor or singer- would actually be quite a bit like Lune and Idelle. He can't stand either of them- he has to put up with Lune, but he'd chase Idelle out of the store.

I have some emotional males, I would say Morris is very much like Shin's gf, I think I've been calling her Lily, but I keep notes in so many different places...Seafoam (Lune's boyfriend) is also like that, he's timid, romantic and whimsical. He's less practical overall.

There are also more practical females. It's a matriarchy, so the leaders are all female. The ruler of the incubus world is a succubus. She might not be a ruler though, she might just be a higher up official. I haven't thought of all the names for people yet, but I kind of have a visual and I tend to think of characters that relate in important ways to the worlds my main characters come from.

I believe there's nothing wrong with going with a stereotype; it only becomes a problem when that's all there is to a character. To me, a stereotype is nothing more than the generally impression someone might have about your OC before they really get to know them. People see someone behaving one way and peg it as who they are when in reality there's another side to them altogether or someone to explain why they behave as they do.
