Hey everyone!
We have finally combined two frequently requested features into one:
Now you can not only give up unwanted Knuffel for adoption if you find yourself overextended with them and all the care they need, but newer user can also adopt these Knuffel again.
How does it work?
Giving Up Knuffel for adoption
If you have a Knuffel you don't or can't take care of anymore simply go to your Knuffel and click on the X on the right side above your Knuffel:
This will lead you to an overview of the Knuffel as well as a second confirmation.
Click on "Give up this Knuffel for adoption" if you are absolutely sure you want to give it up.
The overview will also show you how much food Tifunee will give you as a breeder's fee.
You will get 100 food for each level your Knuffel has gained.
You will not get back the original adoption fee you payed for this Knuffel.
I would briefly like to explain why we decided to do so:
Giving back the original fee you payed would leave too many possibilities to exploit of this feature. For example a user could adopt 10 Knuffel, level them up for just one level, which really doesn't take longer than 10 minutes as the very first level are easy to gain, and then resell it and earn 1000 food within 10 minutes. Repeat the process countless times through the day and users could earn hundred-thousands of food like this each day, which would lead to enormous inflation. Adopt Knuffel and "re-selling" them should never be a means for fast food.
Another thing that would most likely happen would be that users would adopt Knuffel they don't really want when they are down to a low number in Knufftropolis just because they want to see a new Knuffel in Knufftropolis faster and then, when the new Knuffel is there, give up their Knuffel again without any loss of food.
Even until now, when an option to give them back was not available, users occasionally did this. I find this highly unfair towards users who might be saving up and really want that Knuffel, as well as to myself who has to draw all these Knuffel. Kingdom Of Knuffel doesn't earn anything from Knuffel. I don't get any compensation for the time it takes me to create them, the site doesn't gain any profit nor even any funds to keep the site running from them. It takes me a lot of effort and time to make Knuffel for you and adopting Knuffel you don't really want just so they sell out faster and you can get new one is like taking something someone has created for you for free, under great effort, and then making grabby hands and demanding this person to give you things more and faster - without any compensation. This is how I see this act and it makes me sad and I certainly do not wish to encourage this behavior by letting users get Knuffel just to give them up a day later just because they are impatient. I appreciate your love for Knuffel, but impatience does not give me more time to create new ones for you.
I hope you can all understand these reasons.
Regardless of this, it doesn't mean giving up Knuffel for adoption has to be a food loss for you. Considering you gain food for every level your Knuffel gains, as well as the 100 food per level breeder's fee Tifunee gives you, and the fact that Knuffel can find you up to 1000 food per dig, a Knuffel starts to "pay off" pretty fast and you can walk out with a food gain even if you give it up for adoption at a lower level.
Adoption old Knuffel from Knufftropolis
The Knuffel that users give up for adoption will then be put up for adoption for other users again in Knufftropolis.
All of their bonuses, digging stats and levels will be reset once they are given up, so other users will have the chance to adopt a completely "fresh" level 1 Knuffel from Knufftropolis, which they can name and level the way they like.
You might never know when someone has given up an old Knuffel for adoption, so, if you are looking out to get old Knuffel, it might be worth checking out Knufftropolis every day.
This new system is for giving up Knuffel and adopting them - it is NOT a trading system as Knuffel should not be traded. Admins and moderators will not interfere if anyone decides to try to "trade" Knuffel through this system (either to trade them for food or transfer them between specific users as well as between main and mule accounts) and loses food and/or Knuffel.
