When I read this I was truly chilled to my core. I mean truly, truly, truly afraid. I always suspected that people were growing more and more complacent with rules and losing their ability to think logically and their desire to fight back. I always
suspected attitudes like this, "It's a rule so it
must have a reason," but no one's ever said it out loud. They always hide their blind trust of authority it behind things like, "Well it protects the children!" or something. So hearing it admitted like that... I literally almost threw up because it's so scary and sick.
But then I read this:

Why on earth shall we deal with it? Back in the days, we couldn't change our avi's gender. Now we can. Back in the days, we couldn't change our Knuffel's names. Now we can. Back in the days, we couldn't choose a final stage. Now we can. Back in the days, we couldn't optain retired Knuffel. Now we can. All because Firn decided that it'd be fine and put work into realizing it. SO, why is it wrong to ask for it? If Firn doesn't want it, she'll say she doesn't want it and will provide a reason. But Firn has never said: "It is the way it is, deal with it." Firn has always tried to improve things for us and make us happy. SO, let her decide if she wants to change things or not. But stop telling other people to deal with things.
I'm not exaggerating when I say you just saved me from something bad. I don't know what because it hadn't formed in my mind yet. I know it's just KOfK and doesn't really mean anything and probably seems like I'm crazy, but this really represents everything else going on in the real world that people are blind to on purpose, and most of the time I'm on the verge of a horrible breakdown, so when I see something like the first comment, something devoid of any sense of logic or freedom or rebellion, something so utterly terrifying in its simplistic acceptance of absolutely any unjustice... all I can say is thanks, Lilandra. Also your name reminds me of Professor X's alien girlfriend from the X-Men comics I read as a child. That makes me smile.
