When I read this I was truly chilled to my core. I mean truly, truly, truly afraid. I always suspected that people were growing more and more complacent with rules and losing their ability to think logically and their desire to fight back. I always suspected attitudes like this, "It's a rule so it must have a reason," but no one's ever said it out loud. They always hide their blind trust of authority it behind things like, "Well it protects the children!" or something. So hearing it admitted like that... I literally almost threw up because it's so scary and sick.

Seriously, calm down... it's a website on which we feed and play with pixels, not a debate over dictatorship or political values. It's a little silly to equate it as such, considering that this is really a very small concern in terms of everyone's lives, and also a little insulting to assume that I would apply the same principles to "authority" in general. I just think it's pretty rude to complain about rules on a thread where everyone else is celebrating a great new development, which in fact has nothing to do the rule in question. There's a whole forum for that. And since you missed the point completely, I was actually saying that I personally don't see a problem with that rule anyway.

That said, this is (again) not really the place for such a discussion, so I'll conclude by saying how much I'm still loving the new update, and I've narrowed my list of "must-have" knuffels by over half!

Already addressed that.

I still don't get why we should just accept things. If Firn was like the admins of other websites (*coughs* a certain site with dragons *coughs*), I'd understand this behavior. If you voice concerns there, you have to fear losing your account. But honestly, there's absolutely nothing wrong with suggesting things. This is why we have a forum for suggestions, because Firn wants us to suggest new things. She has implemented so many new things that people had asked for, so why would it be wrong to suggest something new like being able to change the final stage you chose before? It doesn't make sense.
And frankly, there are rules that are there for a reason and that we have to accept. E.g., the rule that you get banned for cheating. Who would ever suggest something like: "Please, Firn, allow cheating, we need that here!" That's a rule that doesn't need to be changed. Not being able to change a final stage once chosen isn't actually a rule - it's a feature that's limited. Why not suggest making it unlimited? Doesn't hurt anyone to ask.

JosieQ, you're welcome. :3 (And I got my nickname from that very comic character. ^^'')

@jacobgrey: Personally, I don't see any reason why people shouldn't be allowed to make suggestions in an announcement. Yes, sure, there is a forum for that, but why start a new thread or post somewhere else if one can do it here? If you feel that it disturbs the 'celebration', well, sorry, but I don't see this issue.
Plus, it has a lot to with the new feature. If you missed that part, I can repeat it for you:

Lilandra wrote:In my opinion, there should be an option to change the final stage once you chose one. This would keep people (like me *coughs*) from adopting lots of multiples and it would encourage people to give up some of their older Knuffel, so others would get a chance to get them. I don't think that there should be a high fee for that. 50 :food: like for the name change would be enough, maybe some more. I don't see how it'd hurt anyone, but it'd surely improve things as it'd take one reason to adopt several of the same Knuffel. If there was such option, I'd surely have less Knuffel and if it was implemented, I'd surely give up some of mine.

I hope you got it this time. And now, let's go back to letting people comment on this announcement as they see fit. As long as nobody breaks the site's rules, you cannot keep him from posting, anyway, so why do you try?

And it's why I'm hardly active on the forum. ^^''

KofK is truly amazing, I have to say that once more. I'm not one to throw around compliments or to say nice things if I don't mean them (don't see a sense in that crap); but I surely have to say that I really like it here. I love the community, I love the art, I love the features, it's epic here. And that makes up for a lot of bad things that can even happen here (like they can happen everywhere). Kudos to Firn and starkad. <3

even though it irks me a bit that people will hoard knuffels, its really not anything we can do about...and i got one of the knuffels im missing already so i am content! even if I get no more on my list :P thanks Firn and Starkad for this wonderful chance to get older knuffels!!! (and for being awesome in general...)

I only joined this past October, so the prospect of catching an older Knuffel is very nice.

Thank you.

I have two suggestions. I think that it would be nice if people would have to wait a certain number of minutes after successfully adopting a new knuffel before they could adopt another. So far adopting seems pretty one sided with most people being able to adopt 0-1 old knuffel and then a few people adopting 15+. I agree with some of the other people who suggested that it would be nice if it were more balanced.

Secondly, I think there should be a rule added against reselling knuffel.

But that being said, thank you so much for making this feature for us! Judging by all of the threads in the feedback forum, I bet lots of people will be happy about this feature, ha ha.

I hope to get gen 8 darkness, myself.
