Daaaamn, these school systems are so complicated O_O Ours is just really simple, up to the age of fourteen you ALWAYS study English, maths, science, one modern foreign language (usually French, German, Spanish, and now sometimes Chinese), something called 'citizenship' (basically learning about laws, religions, it's a bit of a strange subject), physical education, technology, art, music, IT, history, and geography. Then from fifteen to sixteen you have to study English, maths, science, one modern foreign language, citizenship, physical education, and a mix of weird stuff that normally gets lumped in with other subjects. Then you can choose your own GCSEs in arts, humanities, languages, or technology again, but every school offers slightly different things because there's no strict laws there.
Then from 17 to 18 you get two years of A Levels, and you can pick up to five or six subjects out of anything you like~ (best time ever :D)
