I'm sorry ML, by suggestions like that just don't work, and all they do is annoy the crap out of me.
As Nectar has already stated, he's long gone by now. Jackdaws aren't supposed to wander far from their territory but something made him fly straight away. He's not here.
And furthermore... Why suggest something that obviously comes into mind immediately? I wonder what people think I do... just shrug as soon as he flies away? Swear a little and then go back inside? Scratch my head and have no clue what the most obvious thing is anyone would do? For Sully's sake, I am the one teaching everyone about corvids... I know they like to nick stuff very well... Even my mom waved around with her keys and the pens and toothbrushes he always nicked. We threw bread on the shed, even though it's unhealthy for him, just to attract other jackdaws and hoping he'd be with them. My boyfriend, my mom and I went through the whole city snapping our fingers and calling out his name. We tried to lure him with his cat kibble. But there's just no sign of it.
And before Captain Obvious wants to sail by again, he's already on every missing pet site available in my country. I'm trying to spread posters without much luck since no one is allowing me to put one up, except for one pet store up to now. I'm gonna spread flyers in the street as soon as my printer stops being a bitch. Via social media I try to reach as many people as possible - even foreigners have shared my pleas already, just because they
might eventually reach people in my neighborhood. I'm not sitting here on my ass just crying for his return. Oh, yes, I do that too. But I'm putting a lot into action too. My boyfriend is checking every jackdaw he encounters for a ring, still.
If you have suggestions that not everyone could think of I'd really appreciate it. But I'm at a loss of what else I can do.

Maybe there is something near where you live that frightened him away, and might still be keeping him away? Has anyone might have seen a stray cat or dog? It could have frightened him if there is one. And I'm not saying that you haven't done anything, I'm just clueless in what could be helpful information for you. I hope you can find him soon though, I know what it feels like to loose a pet that's like a close friend.
