Dia de los Muertos.
It does seem pretty cool, but I've never celebrated.
You also get to dress up and paint your face from what I recall.
Traditions connected with the holiday include building private altars honoring
the deceased using sugar skulls, marigolds, and the favorite foods and
beverages of the departed and visiting graves with these as gifts.
They also leave possessions of the deceased.
I know that my ancestors aren't in their graves, though.
So it's kind of pointless a little to me to visit graves.
But at the same time, I think it's a way of honoring the deceased.
I really want to know my bloodline.
Especially the Native American part.
I do know I'm part Choctaw and Chickasaw.
But my dad is either Apache or Comanche.
I'd love to know more about my ancestors and who they are and what they did.
