The first book is nightshade, and there are vampire bats in the third book lol but the "monsters" in these books are mainly people that can change into wolves at will. It is a bit dark at times and there is definatly at lot of drama lol, but they are good

How about Summer '11 Short Hair, have you tried that one? I thought it was supposed to be lighter.
