Kyle smiled awkwardly, he had often been told this by his family as well. "Sorry, sometimes I forget." Before he could explain any further Helena continued, apologizing for her behavior. This threw him off a bit considering her previous statement, and stopped his attempted explanation in it's tracks. Feeling rather relieved that she wasn't actually angry at him Kyle wondered if he should say something else. It seemed like she wanted to continue speaking. He'd just wait and see what she wanted to say, and took this time to try and remind himself to remember to knock before entering. Occasionally he really did forget that not everyone could simply sense people's presence.

As Helena began speaking Kyle's face showed obvious embarrassment. Aside from being unsure how to respond to her thanks, her next suggestion threw him for a bit of a loop. Not only was she not angry, she was actually thankful? The fact she wanted to try that again left him speechless for a moment. In the time it took him to regain his thoughts Helena had begun speaking again. They would eventually have to share a room, so she wasn't wrong there. He nodded, having finally managed to pull himself together enough for words. "That's true." He watched as she put away the violin, looking rather awkward. "I- uh- should probably at least warn you that I am prone to rolling around in my sleep. As you probably noticed." This seemed silly to mention now, but it was all he could think of.

"I probably should have mentioned it before, but I guess better late then never?" He asked sheepishly. The fact she wasn't angry was something he wanted to preserve, and if this were to happen again he wanted to make sure everyone was aware of the possibility. Then again... why had she said thank you? It did seem like she had been having a nightmare, but as far as he could tell he hadn't done much other then hold her. Unless... "Right, I'll try and remember to knock next time, I didn't think much about it since I was still right outside." He chuckled a bit suddenly. "Sometimes I forget I'm the only one who can sense people's presence." He smiled at Helena, pausing for a moment. "You should play that more often." Kyle suggested suddenly, motioning to the violin she was currently putting away. "You're quite good at it." It was an obvious change of topic, but he couldn't help it. She was quite good, and it seemed such a pity to not tell her so during the opportunity he had.

Helena actually rolled her eyes when he mentioned he moved around in his sleep. Like she hadn't noticed that. But she was actually a bit relieved. She did too when she had nightmares, but she decided not to mention it for now. Better late than never, huh? Helena thought of that. She had things she needed to tell Kyle too. Important things too. Better to tell him... She bit her lower lip. No, she couldn't tell him. It would mean that... Helena shook her head, and grinned at Kyle as he spoke of her violin. "I know. I had wanted to play for some time, but... " she stopped herself from saying she was scared she might get Kyle's attention.

Then she looked at Kyle. "you know, I'm a bit envious of you," she said. Kyle obviously didn't want to talk about sleeping anymore, so Helena would do her to change the subject. "don't get me wrong. I would rather be a lesser noble than being born into your family. What I mean it the power you have." she smiled and sat down on the bed. "if I had to choose I'd rather have yours than my own." she stated bluntly. It was true though. She had often wished her power could go away and never resurface again. Of course her parents would never allow that.

"My power have its benefits, sure, but I'd rather be free of it," Helena rarely has any visions that were good. Most of them were bad ones. Horrors that would grant her nightmares for days and sometimes weeks, hell, her very first vision still haunted her this day. Helena had tried to reason with herself. Saying it was a bad dream. It hadn't happened yet, but now that Kyle were here there was a possibility it could happen sooner rather then later.

"My visions gives me nightmares." she stated bluntly. "I was sure I would get one tonight, but I didn't thanks to you." she said and smiled. "come, I'm starting to get hungry." she sidestepped Kyle and waved for him to follow. Then she stopped.

He fingers went to her head. A vision? No, she never had visions while she was awake, but she could no longer see the hallway. She was in a room. There was a bed. There was blood everywhere someone was crying. No, she knew this vision. She had seen it before, a lot less sharp. "how did it go?" Kyle's voice. "she didn't make it."

Helena screamed and tried to close her eyes, tried forcing herself out of the vision. She didn't want to see it. Not again. She didn't want to see Her again. "Stop it" she repeated again and again. But the vision continued behind her eyelids. Kyle had wanted to see her. Helena felt tears running. "Stop!" she felt something wrap around her. Kyle... Her vision stopped and she looked up at Kyle's face. "I.... " she didn't know what to say. She didn't want to tell Kyle.

Kyle had smiled a bit when she spoke of how she had wanted to play, but even though she didn't finish the sentence he was sure of how it would have gone. Considering how hard she had tried this last year to keep as far from him as possible it was likely that was part of the reason. His power hadn't exactly let him forget the fact she had been avoiding him like the plague. Feeling her literally stop in her tracks and retreat on more then a few occasions, before she had gotten used to his daily routine, had been disheartening if not a bit hurtful. Then again he was used to that kind of thing, as even as a child people seemed to care very little of how his power affected him or how he viewed it. Despite how clear cut his power was his family and many of the others he'd interacted with had either ignored it, going about their normal business as though he had no idea about it, or simply talked about how wonderful it was.

He didn't think Helena meant to say that, but Kyle couldn't help but remember his playmates talking about how amazing and cool his power was. They would discuss what it would be like to know what everyone thought, and how they would be able to get away with anything by avoiding people. What they didn't realize is that you often don't want to know what someone is thinking, and when you find out it can destroy you. Finding out how little his parents cared for him at such a young age and later learning how they only viewed him as a tool weren't the worst. It was knowing everything that adults around you thought that really ruined any hope Kyle had at a normal childhood. When Kyle had been younger, his ability to control his power wasn't nearly as good as it was now. Sadly, that often meant he couldn't turn it off, and was forced to hear what everyone around him was thinking, despite how little he wanted to know.

The minds of adults are not something a child should be part of, and it forced him to grow up fast. Even the minds of those his own age held no comfort, as they seemed to care even less about him. At least the adults wanted him as a tool and treated him relatively well because of that. Most of the children only spent time with him because they were told to, or to abuse his abilities for their own gains. His refusal to do so after the first few instances made him a quick outcast. Now his power was useful, and not nearly as bad once he had gotten control over it. That was something he couldn't deny. Besides, Helena's power was also something no child, or even adult, should ever have to experience. Though truthfully, he wouldn't wish his power on anyone after his experience with it. He didn't know exactly how bad her visions were without reading her mind anyway, and that would only work if she thought about them while he did so. Without that, he couldn't even really begin to compare them.

The one part of his power he had never been able to get under control was the way he was always able to feel others. Even after he'd learned to shut off his connection to their minds their presence was always there. In fact, this was the very reason he hated large gatherings and parties so much. While it wasn't nearly as bad as his first party, he'd thrown up due to the shear amount of people and thoughts being forced on him, it still made him rather nauseous. Usually gave him a headache too, which didn't help the one he was given from having to swallow so much horrible small-talk. Thinking back, if he hadn't had his power, he'd probably have been a much better noble. Learning all the dark parts of nobility as an innocent made them seem much more distasteful. Especially when they involved your mother's affair with another man.

After Helena had walked by he'd moved to follow. I was a welcome relief from the memories wishing to flood his mind. Then she'd suddenly stopped dead in her tracks. From the position of her hands it seemed to be something with her head, which lead him to assume some side effect of her power. So far she'd only mentioned the nightmares, but they hadn't exactly talked much. When she started screaming that was really the only assumption left to draw. Kyle was at a cross-roads, he didn't exactly know how to respond to this, and didn't feel comfortable reading her mind to find out exactly what was going on. He'd already decided he'd never do that without her permission, and the only other thing he could think of was... Kyle reached out and wrapped his arms around her, like he'd done in his sleep the night before. He held her close, hoping it would scare away whatever nightmare was over taking her. Amazingly enough, she seemed to calm down, and looked up at him. "Are you alright?" Kyle asked, pausing. "Is it over?" He sounded quite concerned, and loosened his grip a little bit so that she could move away if she wished. "I wasn't sure... do you need to sit down?"

Helena wrapped her arms tightly around tightly around Kyle and cried. She didn't care anymore for all she knew he had read her mind in panic to try and understand what had happened to her. "I can't take it anymore." she said crying. "I don't want to see that vision." She wanted comfort, and as strangely as it seemed Kyle was exactly what she needed. "I'm so sorry" She whispered.

She knew Kyle wouldn't understand why she was apologising if he hadn't read her mind, but in a way she hoped he didn't know. "I ... Had hoped... " she had hoped this vision would have been canceled, since she originally were to marry someone else, who she hadn't known. Then the vision had been there and then the one with her brother, where he died, and then the plans had changed, and Helena had hoped her own future had to.

"Do you know the feeling of knowing everything?" she asked. It was a stupid question since Kyle, of course knew that feeling. He could read everyone. "I know everything before it even had happened." she said. "I know how out relationship is going to be, I have seen how my parants are going to die. I have seen our marriage, our first born ... " a shiver of fear went through her.

That was just it. Their child. She had seen it. It was going to happen. Her vision just now confirmed it. She was going to give birth to a still-born child. She couldn't avoid it. Her first child was going to die before she even got to hold it in her arms.

She pulled away from Kyle and got up. "well, food it was, right?" she said and dried the last of her tears away and smiled.

Kyle could tell that what she needed now wasn't a voice or reason, or even really a voice at all, just someone to comfort her. Her body language alone portrayed that. He continued to hold her as she began to speak of her vision, though he was confused as she was leaving out everything that would be detailed. He watched her as she seemed to stumble over her words, she almost looked desperate, though he couldn't be sure why. It obviously had to do with has she had seen, but he wasn't sure she had had a problem with seeing it or it's content.

He nodded when she had asked if he knew the feeling of knowing everything, as he figured actually speaking might cause her to stop sharing her feelings, something she obviously needed. It seemed more like a rhetorical question either way. As she began to explain a bit, he couldn't help but imagine how horrible that would be. It was bad enough knowing the past and present, imagine having to suffer from knowing the horrible things that hadn't even happened yet! So far, her visions seemed to all be negative, so when she mentioned their relationship, he couldn't help but wonder. However, before she got much farther she got to the topic of their child, something that would have caused a train of thought expect for her sudden shiver of fear.

Before he could do, or even say, anything she pulled away. As she dried her face and tried to change the topic he smiled in return. "Yes, that does sound good." He brushed her hair out of her face, allowing it to rest behind her ear. "If you want to talk later, we can." Kyle added gently as he approached the door with her. "I'll be here to listen, at the very least." He paused, obviously unsure of how to proceed without potentially provoking her again. At this point, he was sure he was treading on thin ice, and wanted to somehow hurting her feelings again. "Was there anything in particular you felt like eating, or should we just see what there is again?"

Helena looked down. "Anything is fine." She felt a little weird having broke down like that. She bit her lower lip. "We will be happy ... you and I." She said suddenly to her surprise. Why had she said that. "But it's only possibilities. I have seen things and been able to prevent them. Like the one yesterday." She bit her lower lip. It wasn't as if she didn't want to be happy. She just didn't want to be happy, because he had seen it happen. It felt wrong somehow, knoing the outcome before she had even tried to make it happen.

She bit her lower lip and sighed. "Come on, let's go." She said and walked past Kyle, not wanting to talk anymore, but the other's gaze seemed to make her open up for all her fears and worries. She didn't want to talk about her ability, dammit!? Why did he make her do it? She walked into the kitchen and sat down and waited for Kyle to show up and find her something to eat. She still didn't know where things were, and wasn't there suppose to be servant or stuff here to help her?

She pouted and crossed her arms. She was getting annoyed by everything again, and she wanted to get away again. Actually she wanted it more than before now. She didn't want to talk to Kyle about her problems! She didn't want to talk to anyone about them. She just wanted them to go away and she didn't want Kyle to know any of it!

When Helena had responded to his question about food, he had started to ponder what he could make. The servants would be back sometime before noon, but until then they had to take care of themselves. Before he really got into it, Helena started speaking again. While it had surprised him a bit, what she actually said had left him confused. She seemed to be thinking of what she said negatively, which from his point of view was confusing. Why would a positive relationship between them be a bad thing? Yes, it was only a possibility, but at least it wasn't the inverse. Then again, nether of their parents had selfless reasons for the union which was an easy enough reason to view it negatively.

When she left he followed. Kyle couldn't help but be a bit amused as she tried to out walk him, since his legs were so much longer then hers. It didn't take much to keep up with her, though he didn't really try and keep up. She seemed tense, her body language showed she was closed off. Deciding it was best to allow her to stay with her own thoughts until something showed otherwise he tried to change this train of thought to something else. Like what he would make for them to eat.

After they entered the kitchen and Helena sat down he entered the pantry and grabbed a few things to make them a simple breakfast. He wasn't exactly a master of cooking, it wasn't really his forte, but he could make something edible. Maybe even good. After he finished putting everything together he placed a plate in front of Helena and pondered if he should sit beside her or in front of her. Deciding he might as well sit where he was, he set down his own food laden plate across from her before speaking. "Sorry I couldn't create anything fancy, the servants will be back before lunch so you should get something good then." He smiled a bit and took a few bites before adding. "Is it at least palatable? Food isn't really my forte." Kyle was obviously trying to lighten the mood with a joke, and due to his limiting his power, he couldn't know how she would respond. Normally she responded negatively, but yesterday had gone well enough he hoped her positive responses would continue.

Helena looked at him. "I have never seen you use your powers." She stated bluntly. She knew Kyle wanted to make light conversation, but now she actually wanted to put him into a more uncomfortable position. She hated that she was in that position, and it just felt easier to give the place to him, even if she felt badd about .. no, she didn't feel bad about it! She didn't like Kyle!

"How does it work?" She asked to keep herself out of her own confusing thoughts. "I understand that you can read other people's mind, but to what extend. just everything, or just what I am thinking, right now?" To tell the truth, Kyle's ability intruiged her. She would never want it in her life, but she found it a bit facinating.

Kyle had a potential ability to acess every vision Helena had ever had. Every possible furture she had seen. She bit her lower lip. "You said you have never read my mind." She recalled. It had been something about not wanting to intrude or whatever. "I'm thankful for that, believe me, and you really don't want to be inside my head." She said and took a mouthful of the food. There was a awful lot of crap in her head. Most was bad vision and omens. She looked down. "I ..." She said and opened her mouth, but stopped herself. She had just been about to talk about their still born. She ate the rest, trying to keep herself quiet.

Kyle deserved to know. He deserved to know now. "I have had a bad vision following me ever since I was promised away to someone else, but then a lot of thing happened and I hoped that it would change, but, surprise, I just had it again." She said and sighed. "I don't want to talk about it, but it's unfair not to tell you." She said and looked at him. She looked down. "So ... could you maybe just see it instead? My vision I mean. I just ..." She bit her lower lip. "I really don't want to talk about it."

Kyle listened to what Helena was saying with no comment, mostly because he couldn't have spoken without interrupting her. When she had finished he seemed to pause for a few moments, as though gathering his thoughts. "I guess I'll just answer those in the order you asked them." He started, waiting for a second before beginning. "I actually can't completely turn off my power, while I have learned to stop reading people's minds I can always feel where they are. It actually took me a very long time to get to this point, but I can always feel the presence of other people around me, at quite a distance actually." He pauses. "I guess technically you always see me using it, at least in that sense."

"Generally my power works by, well, I simply hear what you are thinking. Whatever is in your head will end up in mind, if I allow it. I have gotten so I can focus on one person or a group, but I haven't actually tried to delve into people's minds. It doesn't seem to work that way, as far as I can tell." Kyle paused again. "Not that I've wanted to try, knowing what most people are thinking at the time is bad enough, I don't really need to know what their deeper secrets are." The look on his face showed he'd had some bad experiences with this before. "So even if I did read your mind, I would only get what you were actually thinking about."

"It can actually be very overwhelming when I'm in large groups, especially when my power is in full swing." Kyle seemed morbidly amused. "I actually puked my first party because of it, still makes me feel sick. The headaches don't help either." He pauses again, changing the topic. "So, if you thought about your vision, or remembered it while I was reading your mind I would be able to see it..." He sighed. "Not sure if that's better then talking about it, but that's how it works." Kyle looked at Helena for a moment. "Any other questions? I might have missed something, it's harder to explain since most of it is just feelings or how things happen for me." Kyle wondered what she would think of his power now that he had explained it. Most people assumed mind-reading mean all the mind and only when they wanted to, his wasn't exactly like that. "I can forget about where people are if I'm distracted, but their thoughts are usually to distracting to ignore if there are enough of them."

((Woo, all my commentary is finally out in the open! :D))

Helena felt bad for asking. Kyle seemed to be so confident and certain I his way of being. It was such a weird thing to sit the and hear about a power that was just as big a nightmare as her own. She shouldn't have asked. She shouldn't have know this. It wasn't her place to know this. This was something someone that cared for him should have known. Helena looked down. "I, um." She started. But what should she say? What could she say? Nothing seemed appropriate at the time. She bit her lower lip. Then she stepped up and took her chair over next to Kyle and took his hand. "Um ... No, I think I got what I needed to know. At least for now." She took a deep breath. "Now you have to see my vision." She said.

She looked down. "I ... I can't say it, and you will get a better understanding if you see it." She said and closed her eyes. It was almost a relief to be able to share her own nightmares. She hated her visions. They made her sick, paranoid, scared, sad and gave her nightmares that haunted her for years. She looked up. "I'm certain, you know." She said. She could actually see Kyle was hesitant. "I ... Well, I trust you, okay?" She said a little harsher than intended, since it was embarrassing. "Just don't wriggle around too much. You see the vision you come out." She said and waited for his reply.
