Just read the rules about evolution on the first page.

But they don't have to be human. We had for example some cats in the past.

Not sure what "toolshaded" means, but we had few pixeled wilds in the past, so yes. You can.

Not sure why my knuffel was rejected, so I'd like some help. It was rejected for not 'evolving' enough or it was seen as 'dress up'. Can someone please suggest something for my evolutions?

How about having her eyes closed for the first couple stages, and then have them open in the third or fourth. You could also have her hair a bit shorter in the first stage, kind of like a pixie cut, this way there's more hair growth instead of it just being the bit on the top.

It won't change the problem with the dressing up though: Your Knuffel clothes are not evolving. Your Knuffel wears underwear in your first stages, and the puts on some additional clothes somewhere in-between. In doe snot evolve from anything to anything, but is a girl with little clothes in first stage and girl with many clothes in last stage.

Your Knuffel must evolve! You have to submit 5 unique, significantly different, gradually evolving stages.
→ Evolving means your Knuffel gradually changes and becomes an "upgraded" new version of itself
→ Striking, clearly visible major changes per stage
At least 3 BIG changes per stage (wings, animal ears, tails, new pieces of clothing etc.).
If they are minor things, like "adding gloves" or "necklaces" etc, there should be MORE changes per stage.
No just adding a few clothes/accessories for every stage (and most of all: Not taking them off again! Your Knuffel must make a progress in evolving. Adding clothes, and then taking them off again or relocating them is no evolution and does not count as any change at all! The same goes for adding body parts like wings, then taking them off again, or letting hair grow, and then chopping it off again. All these things are reverting the evolution again.
→ No suddenly changing clothes into completely different clothes. "Evolve" the clothing too!

Firn, I'm sorry but the changes of this knuffel look the same to me as the changes of current Snowdrop knuffel or KimiLavender knuffel. the only difference I really see is the drastic change between stages 2 and 3. but I probably can't see it from your perspective anyway

Snowdrop doesn't have many changes, but they seem more connected and flower theme is visible more and more with each stage, without checking the knuffel name.
Here 2 and 3rd stage are more like two different outfits. No idea how 2nd stage puffy shorts suddenly changed into long trousers from 3rd.
That's how I see it at least.

The KimiLavender Knuffel for example doesn't just put on new clothes - It has clothes and the clothes evolve. For example, in 2nd and 3rd stage the top has no sleeves, in 4rd stage in grows some sleeves, in 5th stage the sleeves get longer etc. It is - at least to my understanding - the same piece of clothing that evolves. This is exactly what I am doing with my Knuffel. It doesn't mean you can't put on completely new clothes! I sometimes do that too! But then there have to be some other changes too.
Also, both the Snowdrop as well as the KimiLavender Knuffel actually have 3 changes per stage. Snowdrop really only has tiny changes and I was strongly considering to reject that Knuffel, but they are still at least 3 per stage.

Anna's doesn't. In Stage 3-4 Top gets long sleeves, hair gets a bit longer = only two stages, between 2 and 3 it's just a dress up, none of the existing clothes evolve, the Knuffel just puts on new clothes.

I have also said several times that I try to judge all Knuffel by the same standards, but I am only human and I can't do that. On some days for example I am more frustrated than on other days, because for example the Knuffel that are being put up are so not according to the rules (like extreme things like 5x the same stage etc), that, in comparison to them, a Knuffel that might on a different day look wrong to me, just in comparison looks much more okay to me. I try to make this fair, but it is not always easy and sometimes not possible -each Knuffel is different after all, and comparing one to another just doesn't work this way, at least not to me. Sometimes the line between what is an acceptable change and what is not is very fine.
