Other possible prices are, maybe, Troth Tokens? Not the items, but the tokens themselves.
What do you think?
When people need them for some reason, such as an expensive limited item as Ehlenia was last month, they could get some aditional ones this way.
Not sure, just throwing the idea.
And definetely a "try again for free" kind of thing.

The problem with giving out anything is (apart from the obvious - Things like Items have to be made) finding a balance.
Take Troth Tokens for example. I know there are a few people who have trouble getting enough Tokens for the monthly items and would gladly get more Tokens. But the reason why we have the monthly limited Troth Token items to begin with is because we had multiple people complain to us that they had tons and tons of Troth Tokens and did not know what to do with them.
And I just checked how the current Troth Token situation is and there are lots of people who just barely have 10 or 20 Troth Tokens and probably have trouble keeping up with the limited items, but at the same time we have lots of people who have several hundreds of them. And of course a lot of people who have a number inbetween. So, from what I can tell, the system works like it should. Those who come online everyday and think about collecting them get rewarded and there are a lot of people like this. These who don't think about getting them daily, don't get the reward.
I see a lot of people who have more Tokens than they can ever spend buy multiple limited Troth Token items and sell them for food in the market. For those who can't manage to collect their tokens daily, this is still a good option to get the items they want. If we started giving out more tokens or made it easier, we basically downgrade the reward for those who actually do collect them daily and have lots of them. They would have tons of them, would not even see the need to collect them anymore , the Tokens would lose value.
It is always very tricky to find a balance between making something too easy or too hard. Both too hard and too easy causes problems (Too hard - Most people cannot get the items they want, frustrating. Too easy - Tokens pile up and become worthless). As said, the limited items were introduced to bring some balance to the system as people had way more tokens than they could spend. Giving out more Tokens/giving them out somewhere else, would just ruin the balance again and then we would have to think of yet more ways people could spend their Tokens on to restore the balance and then it would all turn into a vicious circle.

Commons would not encourage me to play anyway.
Getting a random item from shops, one I probably won't want, for a fraction of the cost... when I could buy the one I want just for a little more?
It's not very applealing to be honest.
I don't know if coupons could be done, because it's also some kind of incentive for posting (just as tokens are an incentive for being around daily) but if it were fine then I think it would be the neatest prize.

I think they might appear rare because they are popular, so less people sell theirs. The possibility to get them is the same for every WK item, so they are not rarer in the sense that there would be less of them.
I would like to keep Wild Knuffel items Wild Knuffel exclusive though.
