So who's the main character? Are there any?
Don't watch the Death Note anime. It's not worth it. I like One Piece --it may not always be consistent or make sense, but it is colorful, creative, and adventurous. Every arc is placed in an interesting setting with different influences, and it has a lot of parodies. It's not an anime to be taken seriously, but it's one that can hit you in the feels. I've laughed and cried and table-flipped over that anime. It's crazy, and the characters are really likable. You just have to put up with the occasional plot hole and stupidity, but it's better put together than a gag manga.
I also like the undertones of One Piece [like how some characters don't have a last name because the world is at war to the point that many people grew up without their birth parents], and I like how they address real world issues [drugs, slavery, political issues, racism, etc.]. However, they do it in a way that even though they express the reality of the issue, they tone it down with humor and sometimes lighten the tone [like instead of drugs, they use candy]. It's really awesome.
If the first few seasons are too much, you can always just watch the movie versions, aha. Those kinda summarize what happened in the early arcs.
Ah, that sounds nice...
LOL. Well, I've only watched the anime, and I wasn't really impressed with the characters. They kind of bored me, but I do have high expectations. It was one of the reasons I hesitate on Haikyuu --I thought the main two kids were annoying. *facepalm*
Good grief. Super powers in sports is like Prince of Tennis. Dinosaurs, wtf??
