Yeah, I've been told that getting a tank ready for it means putting up a bit of money.

How do birds become aggressive?

when all else crumbles ⚬ ⚬ ⚬

" Restlessness/boredom, fear, hunger. The more uncomfortable the animal the more likely it is to snap at you. The type of bird I dealt with are know to be particularly smart and need to be stimulated appropriately. He wasn't so he was very bored. He was incredibly noisy and I had to be very careful around him to not be bit. Unfortunately I let my guard down around him when the owner came back and that's when I got bitten. Before then we'd been fine because, as a stranger to the bird, I was very cautious not to do anything that could make him feel aggression towards me. Non-threatening behavior and all that. I worked hard in the couple of weeks I was there to stimulate him through playing and he was pretty happy with it. I didn't have any experience, though, and there wasn't much to work with there, but we managed to make some good music together which he loved XD
The one time any of my rats bit me was when it had a needle stabbed into its stomach by the vet. Unfamiliar environment + being in pain (both from the jab and because of why he got it) = me getting bit.
With the bird it was unusual situation + under-stimulation + different person handling him = me getting bit.

Birds are funny when it comes to music. they will bob their heads and dance around, and if they learn the words they'll sing it. We always made sure that Beaker was well stimulated and happy while we had him. After some time we ended up giving Beaker to a friend who then gave him to her daughter. So he is still alive and happy, but he hasn't been out bird for awhile.

" Yeah, they're great like that XD I was in the process of teaching the bird to hit this little metal lid against things to make sounds. I'd drum along and sing as he did it.
That's good, glad he's doing well. Sounds like he's had a pretty good life :3

Aww that's cool, too bad the bird still bit you even if it sounds like you two might have bonded a little during that time.

Last I knew Beaker was doing good and is still mimicking my dad after all these years. He's gotta be at least 20 by now.

" Yeah, well I think he got pretty confused with everything that was going on at the time. Can't really blame him :/ Sometimes wonder how he's faring, but I despised the woman that owns him too much to ever get in contact with them.

Cute X3 It's hard for me to imagine a bird living so long, for some reason I've always been stuck on the idea that they'd be short-lived.

Well certain birds don't live long, but parrots are insane in how long they can live and I don't know how to explain it.

The last birds I owned were two parakeets (or budgies if you aren't from America) that we found in our backyard. It's so weird, my dad was outside and saw a pure white parakeet on our fence. He caught it and we set up a cage for the bird. We named it Luna, and wondered how such a bird came to be on our fence since they aren't native. Maybe a week or two later, I'm in the backyard and I see a blue and white parakeet hanging by our roses. I caught it easily and put it in with our other parakeet. That one was named Solar and they lived for about 5-6 years. They really liked each other but I'm pretty sure they were both male since there were never any eggs.

" Hmm, could be an interesting study topic figuring out the difference in birds with long lifespans versus birds with longer lifespans. I should look up if there's any current research articles on this o3o

That's some interesting finds XD Maybe they were escapees or something.
I've never owned birds myself. Kinda wanted to, but dad wouldn't let me because he hates noise.

Only 8 more days until my aunt's dog is gone and I can finally get my new kitten! Apparently my other aunt, who is housing the aunt moving into a new place, doesn't like her pitbull, Nala. She claims she scares her little terrier, Lilly. Kind of hard to believe if you've ever met Nala.

Nala is the kind of pitbull that would be used to cure people of their phobia of pitbulls. She is so sweet and cuddly- but she is so big she might squish a little kitten so I have to wait until she is gone.
