You make sure NOT to do the matches when you first find them, until the end when you can do ALL the matches at once...

Because combination chains doubles the amount you get for each match.

So the 1st match in lvl 1 gets you 1 point, the 2nd gets you 2 pts, the 3rd gets you 4 points, the 4th gets you 8 points. And that's all there is in that level. (for a total of 15 points possible from the level) So that one isn't worth fussing over.

But when you get to level 6, say....

In that level, the first match in a row gets you 6 points, the second gets you 12 points, the third gets you 24 points, the 4th gives you 48, the 5th gives you 56 points, the 6th gives you 112 points, the 7th gives you 224 points, the 8th gives you 448 points, the 9th gives you 896 points. The 10th match gives you 1,792 points.

Just from that last match. Which adds on top of all the previous matches.


So it's easy to get very high scores very quickly... although if you miss one in the middle of a chain, it starts all over again from the beginning, which is frustrating.

Hence writing it all down. :D

The thing to remember in all this is your lives!

Because you'll need a number of them to turn over all the cards at the beginning -so those first few levels, do the matches as soon as possible, so you build up enough lives.
Then the higher levels, you'll have enough to actually be able to zoom your score up.

I got caught once or twice that way, and had to start over. Lol, it was a learning experience!

I usually play normally up to level 9 and if my score isn't good yet and I really need food I do the same trick as Akili on level 10. That is more than enough. I found it more annoying to wait for the game to finish if I do it on earlier levels and this way I still have the chance to reach the cap on my own :)

I just use a bit of slate and a chalk. (I used to have a nice large chalkboard by the front door, but unfortunately the wind slammed the door shut once right out of my uncle's hand, and the shudder jarred it off of its nail and it shattered when it hit the ground. There were a few fragments large enough to use, but nothing big enough to put back up again. Now I just have some printer paper nailed up, and a pencil on a string. >.< It's not elegant, but it works!)

You can zip through the next two and submit it after lvl 10 (having completed it), or you can deliberately lose all your lives left and submit it after losing...

I do enjoy using those last levels to test my brain-power and try winning without writing anything down, though. :)

I'm actually pretty damn good at memorizing the pictures, but saving them until the end to max your chains, that's clever.
