I wanted to make the last point. Oh well, maybe next time.

Almost finished drawing. Only hair left. It just came to me that the worst thing to draw is hair. Both lineart and shading. Even doing flats for hair is pain in the arse. All the rest is nothing, really. You can learn to draw anything. But I just can't draw fracking hair properly.

Is hair really worse than hands? I always thought hands were the hardest, or feet when you're trying to do a straight-on look (when they're angled or side-view feet aren't bad but I have a heck of a time when they're straight on!).
Hair I've not had too much trouble with.... but then I don't try for a super realistic look so that's probably why. I see what you mean though, with your drawing a lot of the rest of it looks really carefully detailed in comparison to the hair. Is that just because you're in the middle of it, though?

I guess hair and fur would be really difficult to do realistically!


How long have you been working on that? I love how the legs and feet came out particularly! And the folds and draping on her dress, although there's one downward loop thing to the left of the knee that is making me squint at it sideways, lol, I'm pretty sure I'm not interpreting the fabric correctly there.

I'm working on her here and there. Started her year ago, but I did the sketch, didn't like it that much (hair...), dropped it for few months (I'm awful, I know), got back to it in December, did a tiny bit of lineart, started working on something different, then I had this accident and I was sick all the time (I want all of this already to stop, my nose hurts... :mccry: ). And I got to finish her just now. Well, I still didn't finish the hair. I didn't even touch them yet. I just didn't feel like doing them yesterday, it was too late. So I did everything else and left that for today. Though in hours... I'm not even sure... Probably if I got up early and did only this I'd finish it in one day. From morning till night. But it's impossible to work so many hours, so You know. It'd probably take me 2, maybe 3 days if I weren't neglecting it. It makes me feel even worse. On the other hand when I draw a lot in short amount of time I'm like "I don't want to draw anymore" for about a week. Dunno why. I feel even worse thinking how much I could draw if I didn't do such things. Plus I'm super slow in drawing in general. KC can make 2-3 drawings a day.
About the folds... dunno which one do You mean and how it looks strange. But it's possible I did it wrong. I just kinda have no idea what I am doing when it comes to fold. If it looks close enough, I'm going with it :mcheh:

Hair is really hard for me. Dunno why. I rarely like my coloring on the hair and when I do lineart, they always look kinda stiff... Maybe that's because I can't make a fracking straight line to save my life. I love tons of flowing, pretty hair, but I can't draw them... :mccry:

This became a huge wall of text... :mcomg: I'm sorry.

No. She's my friend's. She commissioned her from me. And many other drawings that I should quickly finish. All this hair though :mcdead: Sometimes I wish she had bald charas. On the other hand I should practice and this is for sure practice. But it's hard...

Okay, now I actively want to make bald characters, just to see if I could pull it off....
(most everyone of my characters wear hats or head-scarves or similar, so it's not hair, but it's not bald either!)

Yay!!

This time always makes me happy, even when I haven't fed as much as I wanted, because I can get another knuffel myself, lol, and not mess up the "trying to save up for more lava lamps/FCs" plan.
After all, you can't COUNT on monthly prizes, so you can't budget them away, which means you can spend the FPs on more knuffels if you want...
