Wow, that's quite a storm! Did you get many trees damaged in it?

Huh. This is second (or even third) time today, during the last hour, someone mentions it. Well that and aliens in the sky, lol. But still... Anyway, I don't like even small big storms. They make me feel paranoid and unsafe at best.

Nah, this wasn't a severely damaging storm, at least in my area. For as big and scary-looking as it was, it moved through quickly.

When we were looking at the weather radar to check where the front line was it stretched from the Mexico border/Gulf Coast all the way north through Oklahoma City. Not sure how far north it really stretched cos we didn't zoom out on the map to see.

It's raining here in Wisconsin now but I wouldn't call it a storm at all. We still have snow on the ground but this will wash a lot of it away i'm sure. And i'm sure we'll get it all back before all is said and done with winter this year.

we have been in drought for the last five years but so much rain this year that we are officially out of the drought in this area of the state! I love the rain but I could do with less of it today since they were supposed to start work on the foundation of our house today, I just want to get it done!

None that I'm aware of. The storm was moving north and east - didn't get the necessary spin & shear forces going needed for tornadoes to form. It was just a really big front with a gnarly-looking leading edge.

I live in California I don't know what a tornado is, Earthquakes are our thing

We rarely have any storms where I live now, even when there's a storm in the area. Mostly because we're surrounded by trees and such. But if I'd walk to the lake that's very close, you'd see just how big the storm actually is outside our "bubble". So when you can actually see storm in here, it's really big. Couple of years ago there was one such and it was scary. You'd walk outside and hear one by one trees falling and such. One tree almost crashed through our window.

Had a tornado pass over the house I was staying at in Austin once many years ago. It was a unique experience that I hope to never happen again! Lots of wind and downed trees, but everyone in our house was safe. Walking around the neighborhood in the aftermath was rather surreal.
