well, it does depend on what he is busy with at the moment, and also how this site is being built, because a battle system can be as complicated as you want it to be, but also could be simple if you Modularize its features so you could start with the basis and go adding more on time, but that would also depend on how he has stored the data on the database all this time.

I'm a programmer myself, i have worked with C++, C, java, python, ruby (on rails), php, javascript, angular 2, mysql, nosql (mongodb), postgres, html5, css3, jquery, bootstrap, and so on. That's why i'm surprised that it has taking him so long to launch that system, he must been very busy with other works or he may have been re-coding old code so he can code the system on top.

Wow, that's plenty of experience you've got :mcgasp:
I think he may also be busy with just personal life? XD And I don't know how hard it is to code that battle system alone, but yeah, he's doing it alone, so maybe that's the thing? And there are many things to improve on ongoing basis, so he's also got that on his head.
But making a basic system and then improving it slowly sounds like a good plan actually. After all, that's how this site works, gets improvements all the time :qt:

Yes, the site apparently is still not even covering its own expenses so this is a for-love project not a for-money project and therefor the priority of it is rather lower than things which might, you know, help them actually live.

At least that's my understanding of matters.

you are right on that, there's no way that with this lack of activity they could ever make up for the actual maintaince fees, and that's a shame cuz this site has potential, and with the battle system it would be 100 times better, i guess avatar communities in general are having a bad time against social communities

I live without the battle system since I´m here on the site, I love the games you can play in the forums and how everyone helps each other to get the items he/she needs for their quests.

For beeing honest I don´t need the battle system.^^

Yeah, I don't really long for the battle system either :qlol: I'm just curious about its mechanisms and what it'll look like, but I suppose if it ever gets done, I won't be using it much :qt:

Well, I can show you what it was supposed to look like (though, since I already finished all of this years ago, it doesn't even match the current layout). But at this point I honestly do not expect this to ever happen. It's just not possible to code for one person with a job.
Basically all of starkad's free time goes into maintaining normal updates, he doesn't even get to fix stuff anymore. The time just isn't there.

I always thought it would be a battle between knuffels and not like beeing an Adventure game.
