I don't know if it needs to be explained, it's more of an easter egg for players to discover. It does give you the option to come back to a quest later so I don't know why anyone would ever dismiss a quest for good. After all, it's not like you can only see one quest at once so dismissing them achieves nothing really.

It would be helpful to know that they exist. I personally don't do quests for items that I wouldn't use, but knowing they might unlock another quest with a different item, I'll start doing them as well now.

It shows which quests are locked.

I know I abandoned quests back when I was new because I couldn't gather the materials (either I didn't know about the material forum or I couldn't afford buying the materials). It would be nice to know that the quest you're quitting is a key to other quests. :mcsad:
