Aww she made some new friends there :)

Well Lady, you could join some clubs of things you like to do be it sports or cooking or something and there you can easily meet new people as you already have a common interest.

A personal observation of mine was that to make "friends" rather than simple acquaintances is to find two common interests or values you have with a person and take it from there. One is only enough to break the ice with them, but they still won't feel like they share much with you so a second one is essential for a friendship to grow. From there you just keep finding more of them and the bond becomes stronger so yeah, that's my personal view on building new friendships.

Well what sport I really enjoy isn't done here. And the other sport I wouldn't mind taking up is expensive, it's tennis. That and Peter has issues with some of the club members.... even though he plays tennis himself. He just doesn't deal with those who run it much.



Thing is I'm a awkward gamer, whovian, anime nerd. I'm just a bit leery of making friends who like those things because I know for a fact that sarah (the ex) is a gamer, and likes some anime. Soo she'd know people into those things, but I do not ever want to be friends with people who are friends with her.


And I still have my friends from where I used to live, I miss them a lot.

I hope one day River can be happier ;3; with more friends and work. You can do it ~

A good way to make friends imo is to demonstrate that you're interested. Take the initiative, message them, ask them to hang out :3 If they're also interested, they'll reciprocate and people love being needed.

Keep in contact with your friends from your old place. Even if you can't see them in person now, maybe you'll go back there sometime and since the friendship is kept you can hang out.

I keep a very small and select group of friends because I'm not a people person. Well I am, but I'm also very strange so I don't think I'm everyone's flavour.

I did make a friend here once but she left I admit it put me off trying again. Also people like to drink around here =/ which isn't my thing.

I do, I talk to them on fb in a group chat

Tennis sounds good but yeah can be expensive.

Well, is it that small of a place where everyone pretty much knows each other? If not, then I guess it'd be rather unlikely to bump into mutual friends of her.

Ah well see interesting thing, I visited Peter lots over the years and only bumped into her once. Except I don't remember it.

Then since I moved I've walked by her about...3-4 times.

She has a job as far as I know at a local cafe, thankfully there are other cafes we can visit.

But I know she knows people. And I know what she's like... I don't think she has many true friends but I think she still has a rather big group of people she knows.

I just really don't want to be associated with people who know her well, or a little bit unless they honestly dislike her.

I usually just ignore people if I don't like them and they're in the same friend group ;u; I don't want anyone stopping me from making friends.

I'm not into drinking either. I guess it is hard to make friends unless you're in school, work or a club. I'm not sure where else you would meet people other than online.

I would but she's a backstabbing person who's rather crazy. She badmouths a lot of people. Also tries to be all friendly with me even though we both know she dislikes me a lot.

Yeah online is easier.

-sigh- Also hard with no job. Because like I don't want to ask Peter for money, I feel bad. And we're saving for a lounge.

If I go out, I'd rather go out with Peter..

It's even harder in a smaller city. Or town (never get the difference >.<)

But you can't really depend all your future on just avoiding one person that happens to live there, it's unhealthy. If you befriend a person who knows her, who knows, maybe that person will know how much of a mean person she is?
