I wouldn't want to do anything either if it was hot and humid x_x

I must not be a fan of the sideways look then. I notice I enjoy a lot of the eyes that look forward. I mean, do we have any others?

Surprisingly enough, I haven't learnt as much as I would like from shows. I definitely am accustomed to the language but speaking to a real person is really something else x_x Did you live in the country for a while?

Have you been to a maid cafe? We tried one out in Akihabara and my boyfriend was very uncomfortable. There were a lot of nervous giggling going about. The parfait was surprisingly delicious.

Hmm, that's true. The buildings were so nice and cosy and I was super statically charged all the time. I still don't know how to navigate Shinjuku stations nor the Lumine buildings @_@ It took me so long to find 'it's demo'.

How bad are your knee problems? I get pain in my knees too and yeh, it's a really difficult climb.

I'm blasting my air conditionner though so I could survive spring cleaning. It's just pretty intimidating to start with a pile of souvenirs I haven't cleaned since January XD

Some of the shop eyes are and some of the air gen something are too. Which reminds me I haven't used those in forever.

Speaking is always hard, I learnt how to speak English by rehearsing conversations in my head, it works wonder when you don't have any other place you can speak.
I had been living here for 3 months before I started trying to speak, it came strange at first and I had to use English to make myself understood. On the other hand, some of my classmates who have been here for more than a year and have been studying for a lot longer still can't have a decent conversation because they just don't try to.

I've never been. I don't want to go there alone and the BF is too uncomfortable to go with me so I guess I'm never going unless I find someone else.

Shinjuku is awful. I try not to go there if I can help it. Actually I only go there for the garden and for drinking.
And I love it's demo ^^

I usually don't feel anything, it starts hurting when I walk a lot but that's about it. I still don't think I'm going to be climbing Mt. Fuji any time soon.

Ouch O_O that's a long time. What souvenirs did you get? I had trouble deciding what I wanted to bring back from Japan so I only brought back edible items for friends and such. I did buy myself a yukata although I wish I bought a higher quality one. Other than that I have random clothing pieces from Shibuya109 and harajuku. I wish I could've brought delicious strawberry daifuki home or the fresh strawberries. If I lived there I would eat punnets of strawberries!

Same. I don't often display my shop eyes.

I suppose it's all about the effort you put into practising :3 I guess the thing about international students is that they stick together and continue to speak the language that they're comfortable with as opposed to integrating in with all the local kids. That happens a lot in my university too. All the students from China form groups and speak their own languages so when it comes to group work, their English is less than understandable.

I enjoy the nightlife in Shinjuku. We stayed 10 minutes from the main station and every night was so lively :3 Very crowded and confusing though but not as terrifying as Tokyo station! We got so badly lost and we didn't realise there was a tunnel to the other side without having to go through the station. We ended up getting charged for not using the trains D: In Australia you can tap on and off with your loaded train card and walk through stations, not take the train and not be billed. What about people who change their mind about taking a train and want to get back out? In Shinjuku I walked through the wrong entrance for the JR line (the gates are adjacent to each other but completely closed off) and I had to stumble my way to the gate guard and explain my dilemma.

Optional bio: Hmm, not sure what to put here...I'm a lover of animated shows, horror movies, and so many genres of fiction. In my spare time I enjoy writing and drawing, so I'm hoping to get some wild knuffels made sometime soon for others to maybe enjoy. ^u^ I'm also incredibly introverted so... yeah. :mcheh:
I'm pretty much a newbie atm so if I filled it out wrong or misunderstood anything my apologies. :mcsweat:
In the meanwhile thanks for the chance and I hope everyone here has an awesome day/night! :mccute:

Hello Tarquin :3 Welcome to kofk! I'm glad to help. The trade has been sent.

I'm always excited to see wild knuffel submissions :D It's definitely a good way to gets fps as well. I love fiction too, mostly crime, murder mystery or fantasy. Those seem to be the types of books I enjoy.

Thank you for the welcome and the help! ^w^

Well with any luck, maybe some of mine will be available soon! Still working on Evo 1 though; so it'll be a bit before it's ready. ^u^ If you enjoy crime and mystery you should take a look at the author Jennifer McMahone. Her work is really brilliant and has lots of twists, plus strong female characters and a splash of spookyness in some.

Welcome Tarquin! Glad to see some new faces. I recently discovered Mo Hayder, I wouldn't recommend her earliest stuff but I love her plot twists and how deep it seems she thought out everything, including her characters.

@Poshi :
Aha, since January I ahve been on exactly 5 trips, so even just tickets for stuff and touristic brochures take up a large part. Other souvenirs tend to get displayed and/or used a lot faster.
I have bought a yukata too last year, haven't been wearing it as much as I wished.

Same for everything I guess, without practice you can't get better. I'm super lucky, it took me more than a year to find a French person at my school and even then, we've been speaking Japanese.
But lately it seems the Chinese students have accepted me as one of them and they started speaking Chinese to me. Except I don't understand a single word XD

I don't take the train very much lately but usually you can just explain the situation to the nice gate guard and they'll let you pass. Usually.

You're welcome Tarquin :3

Which of the respective authors books would you recommend? I currently have a list of books ready to read. I just haven't found the time to buckle down and finish them off. Let's see, I'm in the process of reading 'girl who played with fire' and if it's good like the 1st one of the series, I'll purchase the last one. I've heard mixed reviews. I also have a Sanderson book on the shelf which I bought in late 2015 but I keep pushing it back in line. I spent some time gobbling Lestat books by Anne Rice and also Raymond Feist's Magician.

@Kuuki
I keep tickets. I laminate them and turn them into book marks :3 Which trips did you take? I have my tickets from Hakone and Kamakura also I love playing the gatcha for pins in the area *u* We walked up Mt Takao (without the chair lift) and I almost dieddddddddd. My friend couldn't do it several hundred metres in so she walked back down to get the chair lift.

...
Hahahaha xD That's rather unexpected.

It was a lot of flailing in English ;-; because I have no clue how to say "I'm walked through the wrong gate." But he asked me where I was going and he let me through 'orz

Oh my, I posted in this thread once ages ago, but I must have forgotten to bookmark it, so I never checked back -.- Sorry!

The idea of turning tickets into bookmarks by laminating them is great! I used to keep tickets as mementos, but I never really knew what to do with them so they were just lying around uselessly without me looking at them and I stopped that. Do you have a laminating machine? Or do you have it done at a copy shop or something like that?

Haha that's fine :3

No, I don't own a laminating machine. Usually stationary stores or print shops offer these services like Officeworks. I don't think I have enough bookmark sized souvenirs to justify purchasing a laminating machine. I mean, do individuals even own laminating machines anymore o_o;
