Aha it's not as much as they're hidden purposefully than that they use already existing buildings that look totally normal from the outside.
It's not as easy to spot as it is elsewhere.

I miss affordable cheese more than anything else. Recently there's a French frozen food store chain that started being available in Japan so I get good and cheap bread.
I'm a pretty good cook if I can say so myself so French cuisine is done at home. At worse, I can eat at famous chefs restaurant for less than I would in France so if I ever feel like it, I can just go without breaking the bank.

Oh, that makes a lot more sense x_x

How expensive is cheese in Japan or shall I say, how cheap is cheese in France? I love cheese haha. A good cheese platter with some sour/salty olives and meat is the movie snack dream. Haha.

That's surprising. You would think good French cuisine in France would be cheaper than overseas. I don't think I've ever been to a French restaurant or had french food. I don't really venture outside of Asian food. I eat a lot of Japanese, Vietnamese, Thai or Indian.

Then you can forget about your perfect movie snack because meat is as affordable as cheese, and even less easy to find.
God, I would kill for German Wurst -___- I've seen ONE store selling that, one. At least French things are seen as fashionable so I can find it somewhere.

Back on the price though, anything under 1000 yens is cheap and get put instantly in my basket. Unfortunately, it never almost happens.
For this price in France I can get a nice assortment, in Japan it's usually one cut.
Oh well, at least I can splurge sometimes on good cheese if I feel like it. The hard part is that I love using cheese for cooking and with that price I feel a lot less like it.

Eating out in France is generally expensive. Eating out in Japan is generally cheap. That and eating out for lunch in Japan is even cheaper.
I can eat at nice restaurant for the same price I was eating at the local restaurant in the middle of nowhere. Well, of course, the dinner course's price is outrageous.
Then again, I'm quite good at cooking if I say so myself and I've never been used to eat out anyway.

I eat Asian food sometimes (aside of Japanese food I mean, because that would everything my BF cooks and that's at least 3 days a week), but I can't say I'm knowlegeable.
The only thing I have trouble eating is Chinese food because what you find in restaurants is nothing compared to what's cooked at home and unfortunately I tried homecooked Chinese food before I tried restaurants.

Then I guess Australia and Japan are the same price on cheeses. I can get a small cut for $8-$15 depending on what I want. I suppose you do want good cheese in cooking, usually my partner and I just get the $4 bagged, shredded stuff and we use that in pasta sauces or lasagna.

I'm not even sure what home cooked Chinese involves. I'm sure the Vietnamese food I eat at home blends into some Chinese cooking as well. I rarely eat Chinese take away. It's always strange, oily westernised dishes unless it's yumcha, then that's pretty good. Have you had yumcha? It does have some strange dishes like bbq chicken feet, tripe and stuff. Of course there are an assortment of dumplings too.

It's not much that I want good cheese, it's that I want different tastes from the bagged stuff, that, honestly, doesn't have a lot of taste.
Like, I love making stuff with goat cheese, but this is something that is even harder to find than usual and even more expensive.

To be honest I am not sure what it involves either just that it's way too good and has spoilt me for life.
The Chinese restaurants in Japan also have that oily stuff, I'm getting pretty intolerant to it.
Never had yumcha but dumplings is one of my favorite food ever so I guess I'd love that.

Lately, a few friends brought me in for Hong Kong style tea, it was pretty good.

I've never tried making anything with goat cheese. We usually use a lot of Parmesan cheese.

I didn't even touch Chinese food in Japan. What does a Hong Kong style tea involve? We have a lot of English high tea around here although they're quite pricey to be honest. You do pay for the lavish venue and "service", some better than others.

Parmesan is very good but also very salty so sometimes I want a change.
Lately, a French frozen food chain has opened in Japan and they have, rather cheap, frozen goat cheese. I'm almost dying from happiness.

I'm not sure anyone goes to Japan for the Chinese food so I'm not surprised.
It involved very bitter milk tea and a few sweets, it's like an asian twist to the English high tea.
And that is expensive pretty much everywhere in the world, so expensive I've never even had it.

It took me a while to get used to the saltiness in parmesan and the smell as well. It used to remind me of off milk which was really off putting when at restaurants they grate parmesan on top without asking. Now a days I will have a moderate amount of it on my food. I enjoy a good chilli cheddar, very simple. Do you like blue cheese?

I don't remember seeing too many Chinese restaurants anyway. Oh, love do love bitter tea. I find a lot of western teas are very mild like english breakfast, fruity teas. I don't want those, I want jasmine, assam, oolong black teas. My grandma used to brew it really bitter. Oh? I bet it was expensive in France. Here cheapest is $35 for a moderate venue and can go up to the $90 mark. With champagne is always more expensive. Usually the $40-$50 ones are tasty and the only reason why it's $35 at "the tea salon" here is because it's not in a ballroom, or a venue overlooking the ocean.

Now you do haha.

Yes, I'm keeping it as a permanent thing. I rolled a 1 so that's a miss for today. Try again tomorrow :3 I don't want to have to screen cap cause uploading the images is such a pain. I can be trusted, I promise xD

Milk doesn't really change the flavour much but my 2 sugars do xD I feel like it's in my head though, the fact that it looks creamy instead of watery makes it taste better.
