This is probably the avi that I use the most.

Hm, I see. You're using some additional colours that are similar but not too close to the bg colours in the avi... It works really well!

I, too love the newest forest backgrounds!
Sometimes when I have trouble thinking of a color scheme I just go with a background first and work around it. It's usually harder this way but can be fun

Oh yeah, that sounds harder to do --BG first.

I like all BGs that have a nature setting.

I tend to like all kinds of real landscape backgrounds (or interior, whatever, just not some random pattern). Tends to make the avi feel more like a character with a story, who is in a place and does something, not just a pretty picture of a face.

Yeah, I prefer scenic BGs to patterned ones. The only downside is that it can be too strong on an avvie.

Yeah, and sometimes they're very colourful and hard to match. But then again, I feel you can get away with not taking up the colours of the bg in the avi if it really looks like a natural scene sometimes.

Though plain backgrounds are nice too.

Yeah, true. Some people can be critics about having every single color have a match, though (which sometimes ends up with a lot of clutter).

True. The more cluttered the avvie, the better it is to have a basic BG, usually.
