I can usually knock out about 600 words in the first hour. It feels easy. I think that's my natural writing unit. Then I have to add 1067 more and it's awful.

Have the symptoms transformed again? I'm starting to think you have the same plague as one of my cohort-members. She keeps thinking she's better and then her illness is all, "Surprise! This isn't even my final form!"

But you only go to trivia once a week. Once a week I think it's fine to eat 3000 calories of pasta in one sitting. Especially if the pasta is cheesy and delicious.

...Is this like the psychopath nose all over again? Do I give off cliche supervillain warning signs that I'm not aware of? Do YOU have the ethics of a cliche supervillain?

I did get your email. Very little of my knowledge was applicable to their situation, but I gave it anyway. Do you often go rooting through the NaNo Reference Desk? There are so many questions about horses that I feel tempted to answer. Also a lot of deeply unsettling questions, like "Spitting while being choked?"

Why did you read it? Why? There had to have been warning signs. You could have stopped at any time. There is no pairing rare enough that that could have been all you found for them.

I'd like to be able to do 600 words in an hour reliably. I either struggle to produce 300 words an hour or I'm in BLAZING FIRE mode and can do 2000 without breaking a sweat. Have you tried breaking your writing up throughout the day to get your 600-word-power-up repeatedly?

Stop double-posting. It wrecks the pattern.

They just moved to my nose and stayed there. They are happy there. Not to say I'm not still coughing, but it's mostly due to the runoff from my nose at this point. And I only once briefly thought I might be better. Foolish Past Me.

I disagree. It is never acceptable to consume 3000 calories in one sitting.

I thought you knew you were a cliche supervillain. I don't know. Do YOU think I have the ethics of a cliche supervillain?

I go through the Reference Desk, the Character Cafe and Plot Doctoring on a regular schedule. It's never worth it to post on the horse threads, because invariably someone else who has several paragraphs more to say (whether or not they know any more than you) will post before you get there.

I knew what it was almost immediately. I was horrified and couldn't look away. And it just kept happening. It wasn't anywhere near the only thing available, because it's a popular ship.

That would work if I had any motivation to write before 9pm.

Past you was still young and full of hope. Give past you a break.

I don't aspire to be a cliche supervillain! That was never the goal! I'm not supposed to end up an archetype I wasn't planning to be!
You have a lot of cliche supervillain attributes but I don't see you actually going full mad scientist. You 're more like the amoral scientist who works for he villain out of pragmatism and then escapes justice at the end.

Do you actually respond to people very often? Or are you just gazing upon their struggles?

I don't see why you subject yourself to this kind of thing. You don't see me clicking on the consentacles. Self-control.

You could write for an hour at 9, take an hour break, and then write for an hour at 11? You'd still come up short, though. Hmm.

Oh, good. Will I then flee to South America? I'm sorry to have to leave you to your cliched supervillain fate.

Mostly I just read. If there aren't a lot of responses and I might be able to help, I respond.

I definitely didn't understand what I was getting into from reading the summary. I imagined something very, very different. Very different. Then the first or second paragraph happened and I'd already fallen into the pit. It was all fine and then it was not at all fine. Probably the strangest fic I've ever found. I wish I could unsee it, but I don't want to lose this experience, either.

Yeah. It's better to just slog through to the end. Which is about 11:30. Every night.

I assume that you'll live the rest of your very productive days in South America. Or anywhere else you prefer. It's a good life being the consequence-free antagonist.

Do you gain anything from reading about their problems? I can see the educational component to the Reference Desk, but I don't see the point with the other fora.

There is no pit so deep that you can't "Nope!" out of there with the back button. You brought this entirely on yourself. You can never go back to being the innocent person you were before reading it.

I had an 11:30 night last night. Sucked. Was not fun. I was trapped between interesting plot points and couldn't seem to accelerate the transition from one to the next.

I think South America is where the consequence-free antagonists go. It's tradition.

Sometimes? Sometimes not. Then I skip them.

You've clearly never seen something that truly prevents you from looking away. I have.

I'm sorry you were unable to stop writing. Dad, on the other hand, has only just started.

We saw Thor. Did you notice how, for a moment during the big bridge scene, Loki looked and sounded way too much like Rimmer? Maybe that's why you like him now.

I want to see those gifs. I only saw the resemblance in the movie.

Did you see my response to the dance v synthpop problem? I am interested in your response to my response.

I need a list of Marvel B-listers who might reasonably appear alongside the Avengers. Comics-only is fine and even preferred.

Gosh dang it! Stop your double-posting ways!

Wait, Dad's writing again this year? Does he even have a plan? Is he just writing his last story again?

I'm not sure which is more disturbing: That Loki looked like Rimmer, or that the movie where he looked like Rimmer was the movie where I became attracted to him. I want to say there's no connection. I can't. I might be attracted to Rimmerness.
Tumblr has buried the specific gif I was looking for. It would be a bother to dig it up again. But we both know what we saw.

Yes, I read the analysis. I'm impressed you actually found a solution. It's surprisingly literal, too. It sounds emptier because there's less happening? Makes sense, but that doesn't solve the problem of why it's less fulfilling for you to listen to continuously. I don't think I am similarly affected.

Do B-listers who have been Avengers count? Because that gives you great options like The Black Knight (II), Wonder Man, and The Swordsman. Moon Knight was an Avenger once, and for a while Hawkeye had a girlfriend named Mockingbird. You also get people who aren't really B-listers, like She-Hulk, Hercules, and Beast. Then there are the true rejects who made up the team in the Avengers' dark ages and never shared a page with anyone important, like Quasar and U.S. Agent, with whom I am only vaguely familiar.
Namor intersects with the Avengers a lot. Daredevil does too since he lives in the same city, but is he really a B-lister anymore? Everyone in the Spider-man family has crossed over at some point if they haven't been on the team.

Edit: Guy Fieri has a son about my age. Is this fate? Do I have to marry him???

Sorry...

He's working on the same story again. He seems to have a plan and some momentum going, since I got him to start prepping before November. You should ask him about it.

It's okay. Sometimes I also like Rimmer. Mostly I don't.

I think I don't have much problem with sonic fatigue, so I prefer my music to be fuller. That might be the only reason.

Former Avengers would be ideal. Thank you for the list.

Please find and marry Fieri Jr. The wedding would be so well catered.
