Ah, I feel that; inspiration plays a large role in my style.

I remember using a lot of Miyamoto Kano's works as a ref at one point (she does a lot of BL manga, and her art style intrigues me because it feels very detailed and minimalistic at the same time).

Currently (for the past two years), I'm a bit more influenced by GSNK's art style. On one hand, it feels like generic anime art to me, but on the other, I really like the body language of the characters and how expressive they are, as well as the tones and how well the manga-ka draws hands. She draws such nice hands. D:

I'm currently taking inspiration from Hyanna-Natsu's chibis. I've always wanted to draw cute pastel chibis and she's just amazing ;A;. She mostly does digital art though which makes it hard for me to translate it into pencil and paper. She's really good at posing them too.

Ooh, nice! I tend to look all over when it comes to chibi poses, but I don't experiment with them as much.

I tried to do that the day before yesterday by using a base, but I failed so hard ;A; the proportions of the base wasn't the proportions I'm used to for chibis so it just ended up looking...mangled.

I can imagine and relate to that.

Speaking of drawing, I still need to sketch more concept art for my OC. He's coming along quite nicely in terms of background development, though. It's a little big more dramatic than what most of my characters usually get, but I think it ties in well with the kind of personality I intend to write for him.

Does your OC already have a background story?

Ohhh, yeah, it's still in development, but there's already quite a bit of content to work with.

I know he has an older brother with a temper, a younger baby half-bro (probably a half-bro), and his father passed away. His relationship with most of his family is pretty complex, but he's a pretty chill guy regardless.

Just talking about OCs and drawing makes me really want to draw orz Soon... I'll put my hands on my stylus! >>
