You level up a dragon by fighting monsters with them in the Coliseum. In order to do this, your dragon must be an adult, and it must be named. For a beginner, the best way to go is to use three dragons of the same level, and slowly fight your way up.

If you have two max dragons (level 25), you can always use those two in Kelp Beds and take a weak dragon with you to level that one dragon up instead.

People mostly level up their dragons so they could have max level dragons to use to level other dragons, or they level up their dragons to exalt. You gain money when you exalt, but you lose the dragon you exalt. (Think of it as releasing them to the wild and getting treasure back for it.) Daily bonuses are placed on FR's main page which lists what genes/type of dragon would earn more bonus money for the day.

I feel like leveling them up just to exalt them is too cruel ;A; but I guess that is a mechanic of the game...not to mention it helps advance your flight as well orz. I'll look into fighting in col then.

Aha, your lair would get crowded pretty quickly if you don't exalt. You can always try and think of it in a more positive light, like now that they are strong, they can go off adventuring away from your lair.

I only exalt dergs with ugly genes, or if I'm really pressed for space. I'd rather give them away to good homes if someone really likes them.

Exalting does help advance your flight, but that's only really for when you're in a dominance battle. You can check the Ice Dominace thread in the forums for that.

The next week, my daughter has a five day weekend for Thanksgiving. She's not too sure if she likes it or not. On one hand it means she'll spend more time with mommy, but on the other it means she won't be at school. And she'll drive me crazy wondering if she goes to school the next day.
