Ahhh Tigana is one of my all-time favourite books :qh:

Managed to finish a mystery book yesterday and I'm chugging on through the romance I'm reading next. Reading is going well this week, I spent a lot of time on trains.

I don't have a specific goal for this year i just want to do better than i did last year (started a few, read about 3, maybe? :mcmeh: )

Oh! And i just realised i'm already going strong because i fINally read The Maze Runner trilogy in January before seeing the final film! I've also started a couple others. :mcglee:

Some books i have that are VERY overdue for a read:
~ Harry Potter
~ Divergent
~ Deltora Quest 2&3 (read #1 6 years ago and loved it! would highly reccomend if you haven't read yet, although i should probably read it again since it's been so long)
~ The Three Doors Trilogy (same author)
~ City of Bones
~ Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children

most of these are teen fiction books. I don't know if i'll thouroughly enjoy them all but i've put them off for so long and think they'll be a good place to start to get back into reading again :mcheh:

I got so confused with the Maze Runner because the films diverge from the books so rapidly haha. It's like they filmed the first movie and then realised that they missed out some major plot points and needed to change, well, everything else later as a result XD

Yeah, I feel like you almost have to enjoy the books and the movies separately in a way, it was a bit like the second and third films were only inspired by the books.

I did like how the books felt complete when i finished reading them. I thought it ended so nicely that i have The Fever Code and still haven't read it yet because I didn't want to interfere with the satisfaction i got by the end of the trilogy. :mccute:

That's very true, actually I think it's almost better that they deviated SO much because then you can see them as two separate stories in the same universe. Rather than normally with movie adaptations where there will be little things that are off and annoying XD

I've neither read nor whatched the Maize Runner but what you're describing reminds me of my experience with Wicked (the life and times of the wicked witch of the west). I saw the musical first and read the first book a year or so later. they have the same characters but the story is very different and the relationships between the characters are even more so. it doesn't make either of them better or worse, they're just so different that you can't treat them as the same story.

I liked the Maze Runner movies. I haven't read the books yet.

I finally finished We Are Unprepared. It was good.
