funny thing is, i only watched a couple of cartoons when i was small- powerpuff girls and tom and jerry. after i grew up to like, late elementary school, i literally watched no television at all, no movies either. it took me figuring out how to use my mom's computer to start watching things again. then i just got into asian stuff straight away. like anime. and most recently kdrama.

i literally never caught up to western movies and shows. i feel it hard sometimes. like i have a media assignment to analyze purely nonverbal aspects of a couple of scenes from a film that feature discrimination, and i'm just like... i have no stock of movies to draw from lmao. and anime is very verbal. i could just hit 'em with an episode of kdrama, but we're supposed to link to the clip and knowing your way about how to stream kdrama is a job in itself. i'll have to go all like 'watch from this minute to this minute on dramafever. oh but if the player doesn't load go to kissasian. if you go to kissasian be sure to close the popups from when you click play.' sigh.

From ages 3-13 all I had where VHS's to watch.. and a majority were Westerns and Disney movies.. =w=

Our apartment we moved into, the tenants before us forgot to shut off the cable >w> so I had free cable for like 3 years xD that's when I got hooked on anime.

From there on it's been Anime, JDramas, and Marvel/DC shows.. oh and Supernatural owo

A film that features discrimination.. Philidalphia is a good one. Discrimination against homosexuals o3o good movie >x> makes ya cry. Remember the Titans had some discrimination too.

i should go watch philadelphia then! i have to submit by essay by day after tho so i have to see if i can make the time somehow- if i can't i'll have to settle for the kdrama clip and hope for the best :mcdead:

oooh free cable! hehe my grandparents hogged cable tv most of the time (which was fine with the rest of us tbh since we weren't move buffs) so mostly all i ever saw on TV were devotionals and Telugu comedy :qmeh:

eyyyy rec me some jdrama! i've watched some chinese and thai apart from kdrama, but the one time i tried a live action it was the very sucky death note one :mcmeh: and idk how to go about finding something i might like.

A lot of J-Drama's I watch are anime to live.. so..

Crunchyroll and Hidive have SOME J-drama..

CR has:
Switch Girl (pretty decent)
Akagi (pretty good)
[ur=http://www.crunchyroll.com/rh-plus]RH Plus (good, eye candies >w>)
Perfect Insider I've yet to see this one, I saw the anime and it was good
Been meaning to watch this too..

HiDive has:
Lone Wolf and Cub This looked good =) its the only one they have that looks good xD they're a new streaming service so they don't have much

Netflix:
Erased Netflix search link, not sure it'll work
Full Metal Alchemist The Live Movie
(haven't seen either of these yet)

Stuff I torrented:
Hero (this one was REALLY good, probably the only show I seen that wasn't first an anime/manga/game xD)
GTO (Great Teacher Onizuka was also really good. There is an older Drama + Movie and a Newer Drama. Both are very different and worth watching if you can find them I think one of the versions are on CR)
Rurouni Kenshin Live Action Movies (really good as well!)
Kiki's Delivery Service (movie: pretty decent)
Neko Atsume no Ie (was ok, movie based off the Neko Atsume mobile game)

Sounds like something that would put me to sleep with the music. Okay never mind, I can sleep through Case Closed. >>; When I'm tired, I'm tired. XD

Interestingly when I was a teenager I loved watching anime the most. Now I'm watching less and watching more Western. The most anime I watch any more is Yu Yu Hakusho. And the only Western I watch are the classics: Johnny Quest, Scooby Doo, The Beatles Tv series, Groovie Goulies, etc. I really like the old stuff.

YYH apparently is getting like 2 new episodes with the Bluray Remaster Boxset release owo

My most anticipated anime of the year starts next month (hyyype) so excited..

I don't think I watch more or less anime than I use to (maybe more because I know how to get it now) It really depends on the moods i'm in owo
