It's not so much that I really think so, it is more that it is an entertaining thought, and why not entertain oneself with fun thoughts?

I also amuse myself by pretending that water sewer caps in city streets are really secret portals to other dimensions. And that there's a band of firefly insurrectionists who form ranks and train up in hope of eventually fighting the broken streetlight which flickers on and off downtown.

I don't believe EITHER of those things.

But it's fun to think about it anyhow. :qsmr:

Indeed, I second that!

Wow seems like you have a great imagination! Wish I was blessed with that, too :qhehe:

ehhhh, it is good for some things. When you have a good imagination and imagine all the things that can go wrong, it is not so good.
Well, that's true of nearly everything in life, though.

The imaginations that astonish me are the ones belonging to people who write books. To think of being able to create worlds and characters, and then stick around with that same set of them for long enough to write a whole novel! That's amazing to me.

And some of them do it for series, too. I always wonder if they get sick and tired of those characters and that world after having to stay with those ones for so long, without the freedom to go explore other ideas and worlds and characters. But I love to read series, so I am glad that they manage it somehow.

Aw shoot, did I miss jacobs birthday???

So happy belated birthday then! How old did you turn again ? :)

Still pondering whether I should buy a set in the treasure trove or not, but none seems to satisfy me 100%... What would you guys get or did you get something already? :)

Yes Aki, I agree, it is amazing what writers can come up with! Like Harry Potter or other series like that... Fascinating!

Happy birthday!

I'm not overly excited about anything that is in the shop now either. And I only have 1FC. So I am going to wait and see what comes out next.

I just started reading a book called The Hired Girl.

many happy returns of the (belated) day, Jacob!

Wulfalice, had you wanted Circe and Spinning Silver from before or did you just go and browse and they looked interesting?

Julez, I would wait until you see something you know will make you happy. I'm still trying to save up 4 at once for some of the retired event knuffels. But now that we can trade knuffels, I'm thinking I should try a 'want to buy' thread first....

Sanssouci, is it a new book or has it been out for a while? I'm realizing almost all of the books I pick up lately have been out for years and years. I'm not seeing as many of the newly published books floating around in the local bookstores lately. It's kind of worrisome in its implications, when I think on it.

I'm not sure how old it is or what it's about. I like to jump right in without even reading the blurb on the back! And I'm not very far in yet. Here is the goodreads page for it: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/251 ... earch=true

A neighbor said she found a pet mouse that someone had not only dumped, but also tied a zip tie around. She was able to get the zip tie off her, but she couldn't take the mouse with her as she was on her way somewhere. So she put her in someone's bushes. On her way home, she looked for her again and couldn't find her. I went and looked for her, and I found her! It's horrific, but I am just so happy that we got her.

Oh, that's a very recent book! It says it came out in 2015.

What are you going to do with this rescued pet mouse?
