Maybe I could challenge myself for 52 book next year like Jacob. I've got the books for it, they're waiting for me on my shelf :mclaugh:

that's a lot, Ghost! I suppose you could count off how many weeks are left in 2018 and up your goal by that number, see how hard it is before you do a full year of it.

Yeah! I suppose I could, that didn't even cross my mind. I was thinking i've got no real goal for the rest of the year so no stress to read books, but that would give me some time to practise :mcglee:

52 would be amazing, I couldn't do that I think. But I have to admit that I had more time for reading while I was doing the internship than now when I am studying.

Well, but if you're doing mostly non-fiction, that reading usually takes a lot longer, doesn't it? So the two aren't really comparable goals....

that’s assuming supernaturals are... legal

I could do 52, I think, but it would require effort. a lot of it. and shorter books. which would leave me missing out on faaaat ones

@Ghost: you could try 26-36 books. that’s a book in 2-1,5 weeks so you’ll have some leeway

I think I will set my goal at 25 books next year. I could do more, but yeah, it would require way more short books for me!

quality over quantity!
seriously, it'd be a shame to sacrifice fun, or whatever value one finds in books, for numbers. one could do a hundred a year, probably, but not everyone would enjoy the process. which should *kind of* be the point, IMO

Non sequitur under spoiler so as not to derail conversation
Spoiler
I found another of those books that I normally just recycle or use for kindling, but when we were all talking about that, some of you mentioned these crafty alternatives, and I'm wondering if any of you have any specifics, so I could try something like that with this book instead of recycling it. You made it sound quite intriguing!

I totally agree!

I'm pretty close to being done with Daniel's Bride. I'll probably finish today or tomorrow.
