An identical twin sister who was a gorilla, huh? Had you recently read the book "Eva" by any chance? Admittedly I mostly know Peter Dickinson as "Robin McKinley's late husband" rather than through his own works, but that one kind of stood out....



Yeah that dream is about typical of "scary as my dreams get". I mean, I was dead! A ghost! And then had to possess something and actually argued with family and had pain. That's it right there, that's as bad as my dreams get. For the most part. Which is why yours and Moi's sound so absolutely scary in contrast; after all, dead isn't a big deal when you get to zoom around as a zip tie and argue with your siblings, and arguing with family isn't such a big deal when it's just your sibling, and possessing something was really weird but not actually actively alarming and the pain was only a hand that had fallen asleep.

Moi's dream makes that into nothing at all. Also it was, if scary, vastly more coherent! I think that makes it scarier, somehow?

whoa, what kind of game is that, with adorable art but horrifying events? The juxtaposition is really disconcerting. I tend to think of that sort of cute-ified art as being used in fluffy works, for lack of a better term. I guess that would make the horror more shocking, the contrast?

Ah, so you spent years building up a store of horror for your sleeping mind to draw on. You are braver than I; I would not want to deliberately surround myself with more of that. I had a friend who loved it, back in highschool. She said it was reassuring when she found something super scary or gross because it meant that other people had minds scarier than her own and she felt more normal as a result. I never really understood what she meant by normal in that context, though. Everyone is scared by such different things, how would you even measure that to find an average? And then my older sister sometimes goes for horror. She says that for her it's like a cold shower; not fun while you're doing it but it makes you appreciate what you have so much more when it's over.

Hmm, I never noticed that. There was a dream where I hid in a laundry basket and it launched me into the ocean. Thankfully, it turned into a mini-submarine so it was okay.

I liked scary stories as a child, too, but I don't think I was exposed to it a lot since my dad was against me watching anything remotely negative.

EDIT: I've looked up Eva on Wikipedia. It sounds pretty disturbing.

I really didn't think I did until you said so. Last dream I had was about an explosion. There were bubbles. Does that count?

Haha! My dad used to watch Galaxy Express 999 with me. I know one dream I had was inspired by that. My mom was in this line to get turned into a robot and I was waiting for her to come out but she never did. And then I realized I'd never recognize her once she turned into a robot and so I was running through the queue trying to find her and all the robot people were looking at me with pity. I never found her.

Ooh! A creepy game with even cuter art! Dreaming Mary! Don't play that one, either, Akili.

Sayori scene was probably the only part that really scares, honestly. Though when her scene shows up on the bulletin board that's creepy.
