Exactly this.
I have family in a number of countries other than the one I'm in now. If I could choose one of those? Absolutely. If I don't get a choice and end up somewhere where I have no contacts and don't know the language and don't do well in the climate and the culture there is very alien? Then nope. Absolutely not.

Please PM me if you can help!

I did just that XD
Granted, it wasn't a country I totally hated either and I am the one who chose it but I didn't have any contact, didn't know the language, the climate is killing me (Summers especially are hell, I keep on getting sick from the heat), obviously had no idea what the culture was like except for what's shown in anime.
And I made it. Even got myself a husband in the process XD

Though that's probably not for everyone and even I am still surprised at how many things out of character for me I managed to do.

That's pretty brave of you!
And you're proof it *can* be done.

I just wouldn't do it on someone else's behalf, even if they were paying me. I'd only do it on my own behalf, for my own reasons, when I could have some choice.

Not sure if brave is the right word. I'd lean more on crazy. XD

When I chose to move I was in such a state that I'd have been willing to move anywhere.
The money would have been a nice bonus.

That sounds like a rough period -I hope things are better for you now :qh:

Did you end up liking where you're at now? On the whole? I know no place is perfect, of course, but just on balance.

Yup they are. Since my problem were mainly people I needed to get away from for my own peace of mind. moving solved the problem.

And yes I'm liking. There many things I don't like but I'm lucky enough I can choose to avoid them so it's fine.

Definitely. I would probably travel the world on a good bit of the money, and eventually settle in England where my grandmother's family lives. [would I even be allowed to live there? o.O] I'd send my family money so they can come see me.
If I couldn't live in England, I'd try moving to Ireland, Wales, or I guess Sweden. Pretty sure Sweden would take me. xD
