I need to do what you are doing, and spend more time altering and making clothing so that I can be happy with what's in my closet instead of frustrated. There are a few things I really like, but a lot of it is just...
eh.
I've been thinking lately about how to find good warm gardening clothing -you need something sturdy, something that washes easily, that'll hold up to kneeling on damp soil without soaking through and freezing you.
Best bet seems to be some leather patches along the knees and where your heels dig into your back pockets when you sit back on your heels, and just make something.
Have you seen any patterns though? Something (not necessarily with leather patches) that I could start from?
I don't have any pants patterns, since I always prefer to wear skirts, but maybe you could start by just taking old pants that you think are not sturdy enough by themselves and just add the patches to them?
