Oh shit! I'm so sorry mem!!!

So I found this girl who's giving away her rat (she's perfect besides low immunity but that's manageable). I reached out, she said we can schedule the meeting on Friday (so today) because it's her day off but she'll have to come back to me later after she gets home from work to settle something with her younger sister. I said okay.
She never came back to me. So I was like, okay, maybe she was tired after work and she forgot or something. I didn't know if she wanted to meet the next day or what, so today at 10 am, I texted her, if we had this meeting today or if she wanted to reschedule. No response.
Now it's after 4pm, I'm frustrated, the girl doesn't respond at all and it seems she didn't even read the message I sent her this morning.
So please let me just fume a little bit and/or please calm me down, I'm a mess.

So what could've happened:
1. she completely forgot (which I don't understand but it's a possibility)
2. she hasn't decided yet or her sister has some problem with the situation and they can't agree on anything
3. she has no internet connection for some reason (we only contacted of FB, I had a hunch to give her my phone number but I brushed it off and I really regret that now)
4. they had another person interested and she doesn't want to talk to me, although it would've been nice if she told me
5. they decided I'm not the right person, although she seemed excited that her pet found a home (yes, she was talking to me like "she's already yours", which was kind of weird, but that's okay, you know, my poor baby needs the company of her own kin)
6. She never made it to her home.
I see no other explanations.

Either way, for forgetting, I mean, my text should've been enough to remind her. If she has no internet, I can totally understand, but it's still nerve wrecking, because each day Cotton is more and more depressed and I have no idea how to deal with it. Besides there's a ton of public places with free wifi, I mean...
If she just doesn't want to tell me "no", she should. It's normal, I think.
If her sister and her are having trouble making up their minds, any kind of response to my text from the morning should be fine, really. It's even more polite, if somebody asks you a question, you should respond anything. Like, "Hi, I haven't ha d achance to talk to my sister, we're still trying to decide some things, would you mind waiting/rescheduling?" or "hi, there's another person interested and we think they are the better person for our pet". I mean, anything would be great. Unexplainable silence just stresses me out.

Cotton is really not having the loneliness. She has porphyrin on her eyes all the time (rats have it come out of their eyes and/or nose when they're stressed and/or sick) and she sleeps all day long, only wakes up for food (thank god she still has some appetite) and if I take her out of her cage she either goes straight for the sleeve and can be petted (or pet?) for long periods of time (not hours, but before she could barely stand being touched for 5 minutes straight, now it's like she really craves touch and cuddles) or she goes to hide inside our bed and sleeps there. It's not okay, she's really lonely and I'm stressed out for her. I might loose my mind if that girl doesn't text me tomorrow at best.

Yeah, she blocked me... I don't know why, she seemed as excited as I was... I'm really depressed now...


I'm sorry that people are insensitive idiots, I really am. I just don't know what to say, it's awful ;/

I mean, she is entitled to not explain herself but I wished she'd at least tell me the offer was off the table. Case closed, thank you for your time. Blocking people is just so immature, especially in such a situation.

This morning I woke up at 8 and couldn't fall back asleep (Ash was still sleeping). Then he woke up, I cried and then we both decided we definitely are not giving Cotton away. First because we're selfish bastards apparently but we just love this babe too much. Plus even if I would've made an announcement somewhere there's no telling if someone would give away their older rat to us, it's extremely rare for people to give up older rats, usually they're youngsters. And there's a risk that by the time we found someone she'd be too heartbroken to function. So we made a very rushed decision to buy 2 youngsters and just get a bigger cage.
Although acquiainting them isn't going smoothly, we're getting there. Wish me luck with this because we've never done it before and I think we already messed up but hopefully not to a point of no return. So far they're in separate cages. We'll see tomorrow.

Seriously, I don't understand the result. Why did the British (I mean the ones who voted for Johnson) mess this all up?! And the worst is that they did it for the second time!!!! I don't get it. We are all in shock, really. Nobody in Germany (at least no smart person I know) gets this decision and eveybody seems to know what a b*tch he is and what he stands for. How come people voted like that !?!?!
I totally understand you being depressed, I am so sorry, for everyone who voted against him and for everyone who has to live with that decision now...

I guess that's the downside of voting: all the stupid people get to vote and they are in majority...


So the rat update is: Cotton doesn't give a shit about the youngsters when they are on nobody's ground (although they are really interested in her), like the bathtub or in my sweatshirt or the transportation cage etc. She might even let them cuddle with her as long as I am petting her and she's comfortable. But there's something strange going on when I try to put her in their cage. She gets really anxious and pushes the girls away and escapes the cage the fastest she can. I don't know why it's like that. At forst I thought maybe she's nervous about this cage being too open compared to her wooden cage, so I covered the new one with a blanket on three sides. But it didn't help, she ran out and then she was strangely circling their cage, smelling for them and even trying to bite them through the bars... Maybe she considers this blanket her own and she thought they are intruders, idk...
We even gave the youngsters a piece of cloth that we gave Cotton a while ago, so they would soak up with her smell but I don't think it's working. Maybe her cloth on their territory is bothering her, idk... I'll try one thing today, taking the girls out because maybe they bother her and see if she gets anxious alone in their cage. If yes, I'll take out her old cloth and give it back to her, see how she reacts to that. The last thing I will do is to clean the youngester's cage completely and put everything new, so there's no smells and see then.
The worst part is I'll be home alone (not counting granny, but she's no help with rats) because Ash was delegated to another city again and he'll be coming home tomorrow after 10pm, so he'll probably go to sleep first thing after he gets home...
The good part is, the youngsters seem to be getting used to my hand, even if they don't enjoy being taken, they seem to enjoy petting.
