the rioting wasn't where we were luckily .. but my city's fire department and emt's were off to help the city over..

Well, when people riot, some people will loot.

I was talking to my dad about what's going on.
He said he had these coworkers that were black and talking about something and he said racism is bad and they asked him how he would know.
My dad said "I'm a halfbreed. People have been racist to me my whole life. Being Mexican has lost me opportunities, but has gotten me some stuff too. People see 'Mendoza' and see I'm Mexican and say 'He's Mexican, he's a hard worker!'"
And I can attest to people treating my dad like shit because he was Mexican.
Especially my mom's side of the family.
Never failed to insult him and talk shit about him and the fact he's Mexican.
My mom once responded by saying "When you say those things, you're talking about her (me) too!"
Besides that, I've personally never been discriminated against because of my race or gender.
I mean, people have insulted Mexicans, Native Americans, Germans and the Irish (which I'm part of) and it irks me 8u

when it comes to racism i'm terrified.. I don't want to use words that are racist or politicially incorrect and there for come off as racist.. >A<

is it racist to say black or african american.. the first one seems wrong to me but it's what most use...

we allegidly have native american blood in us, its soooo diluted its barely there but mom refuses to consider herself anything but native american and will spout out racist stuff towards caucasions.. =w=,

she'll also start whispering when talking about our african amerinca neighbors. like .. 1 they can't hear you. 2 if it's bad or racist just don't say it =A=

i think she's the reason I am terrified about the words i use.. ono

If you're not prejudice or racist, you have nothing to be afraid of.
If people pull it out of their asses, then it's them and not you.

The people I've met in my lifetime call themselves black. They don't call themselves African Americans.
I've never seen a black person get offended for being called black, so I don't think you should worry.

According to my mom and dad, we have three different tribes in us.
Two on my mom's side and one on my dad's side.
My dad's grandma was full-blooded, so I'm not that diluted from it.
However, I seem to look white while my dad looks Native American .__.

I tend to be nice to people unless they give me a reason not to be.
And skin color isn't a factor.
Anyone can be an asshole.
