My life kinda turned around when I learned what gaslighting was, and realized that my parents had been doing it to me and my brother all our lives pretty much.

But yeah, I sometimes put myself in uncomfortable positions because I don't like the idea of hurting other people or making them uncomfortable. I just can't do it.

I can't stand people who do this.

I mostly avoid people and things I don't like. Not only because ignoring usually makes them stop, but I don't feel like dealing with them.
I always avoid stuff I dislike and I never understood why people look up videos and stuff when they dislike it.
You don't like rock music? Don't look it up and then state you don't like it.
I've started to wonder if maybe I shouldn't be avoiding things so much...
Is it bad or wrong to avoid things and people I don't like o_O

Having depression and having had a billion suicidal thoughts and one attempt - it pissed me off.
My sister has also been struggling with depression and suicidal thoughts and for him to just get butthurt and threaten her like that - I wanted to reach through the screen and smack him Bu
We told her he was full of shit and just wanted to hurt her feelings.
People who genuinely want to kill themselves often tell no one.
You always hear "They seemed so happy!" "I had no idea they were hurting so much!"
People hide depression. If I wanted to appear happy constantly I could do it. I know how to hide my depression.

Yeah, people who actually have suicidal ideations and tendencies are usually quiet about it. If they tell people about it, it's to ask for help, not to threaten and emotionally blackmail.

It's not wrong to avoid people and things you don't like. It's self-care.

Kira, if someone doesn't care about hurting you, put yourself first and don't care about hurting them. Protect yourself instead of sacrificing your wellbeing for theirs.

I kinda fucked up.

Yesterday I was on the phone talking to this friend about why I've been struggling with my head for the past couple weeks, and I didn't realize my dad was sitting out in the living room and he very well could've heard everything I said. I want to crawl under a rock and live out the rest of my life there.

I literally said stuff like "During my lowest moments, I sometimes wish I could tell my grandmother that her ancient ideals will die with her."

Well it's not like he listens to you when you talk TO him so maybe he won't listen to you when you talk near him either.

No such luck. He hasn't so much as looked at me all day.

Bro he listens to everything. Understanding though. Not so much.

Ha.
That way he can (and probably does) have a problem with pretty much anything you say. So it doesn't matter much.

Mynah: That's what I thought Bu
I avoid nearly everything I don't like and it's normal to me.
But people make it seem like I need to force myself to listen to and deal with things I don't like.
I disagree 8u
If I don't like someone, I'm not going to talk to them Bu

CycloneKira: I'm sorry you're going through that ;;
I've said things not knowing someone was there so I get how you feel in that aspect.

We ALL have a problem with pretty much everything he says.
The same can't be said of pretty much everything you say.
