Nope.
Because here everybody knows everybody, and as soon as you're doing something "weird" all the village has their eyes on you.
So it's kind of hard to be different. If you do, you become an outsider.
And therefore cults do not thrive easily.

If anyone's interested, the cult was called The Branch Davidians.
There was a siege where people were killed.
The leader's name was David Koresh.
The fire resulted in the deaths of 76 Branch Davidians, including 25 children, two pregnant women, and David Koresh himself.

You can go visit where it took place. They have a church, I think and there's a memorial there for the people that died.
I've been there a couple times because my grandpa took me.
I was little, so I didn't really understand what exactly happened.

My mom remembers people really good. She can also identify a celebrity based on a picture of them as a baby ._.
Soooo she knows a lot of people around town.
Sometimes she says "I know that cop 8U" and "I know that bitch she snitched on us >BU"

The siege lasted 51 days! :mcdead:
Apparently the FBI claims that the cultists started the fire But the survivors say that the FBI agents were the ones starting the fire.
THAT is an story. Oh my god.

Yeah, it was really messed up. That's what my town is mostly known for xD
There was that and there was a triple murder at the lake and there was actually a shoot-out with a biker gang at the outdoor mall a few years ago.

Amura: unlessss.......the entire town was a cult itself. like that would be like........creepy. like a tourist comes to visit only to find that the entire town is like a creepy cult and there are stories of tourists going in..........and never coming outttt~

What's worse is it was children :\
I hate that a lot of kids die because of cults.
Cult leaders are like scammers and serial killer - predators.
They prey on and manipulate people.
