From what I've been told, I'm German, Native American, and Mexican on my dad's side.
I'm Native American and Irish or Scottish on my mom's side.
However, I noticed a woman's name in the family tree archive that was German.
So I may be German on my mom's side too.
Amura, you reminded me of this video I saw recently about this woman checking out her family tree.
It turned out that her father was switched at birth with another baby.
The babies were given to the wrong parents ._.
So the whole time she was doing research, she was like "Why is my father short and everyone else tall? Why are his eyes blue when everyone else has brown eyes? This makes no sense!"
Then when she solved the problem, she got to meet her actual family and she was surprised to see a female relative that looked just like her u8
Yeah, I heard that the DNA results can actually...not be correct sometimes too.
Which is disappointing. I want to know about all my ancestors.
I want to know their names, what they looked like, how they lived, how they died...
I LOVE genetics. I also love Forensics. I think I've mentioned it before, but I find them so interesting.
I'll never forget this case where a young woman was found dead and they were able to find her killer because they both came from a small village and the killer had specific gene that only male members carried in that specific family.
I was so in awe that they were able to narrow it down like that.
They can also tell where someone grew up by the water they drank and also plants and bugs found on their bodies.
Look up GEDmatch if you ever get the chance. That's what they usually do when checking older cold cases.
They've been steadily solving cold cases since last year 8u
Since technology has come so far, it's easier to do stuff with DNA and they've solved cases people thought would never be solved.
I wish so bad that I had went to college for Forensics or even to be a serial killer profiler.
They can be so freaking accurate, it's scary.
