I'm looking forward them!

What's an stent?

Oh, damn. That's fucked up.
I hope his doctors find another solution :|

My sister is off starting next week 8u

Yeah, I don't think there is another solution. He's gone to the doctor a few times and they said it's mostly likely what will need to be done.

We also start off next week, on Wednesday.
But these last days before holidays are crazy for us. Today I start working at 8:30, have a lunch break and will be working until 21:00 - or more if there is any delay, which is not unusual.
It's exhausing.
So much (useless) paperwork to do also, which is something we all loathe.

But do they need to do it in a near future, or is it something like "we'll eventually reach that point"?
For example, I'll most likely have an hysterctomy. But there is nothing that points that I will have it soon - it may be plenty of years before I do need it.

Burning the paperwork would be a lot faster 8u

Well, he's experiencing a lot of pain in his leg and it keeps going numb so it will likely be in the near future.

Knuffel stuff?

It would be faster. And we would save up on heating xD
But no, alas, we just have to file it, probably for nobody to read it ever.
Silly things to do.

I'm sorry to hear that.
The procedure itself does not look like a pleasure cruise either :|

Yeah, Akili Li was talking (in another thread) about giving up knuffel and adopting them.
I remember something about them granting some money when you give them up, but I don't really recall the details.

Lo, thine invocation's strength is proved!
But I am at work so more in a bit, being paged

Okay that took a while, here we go.

Reminder on how the :food: from raising knuffel works:
*Regular/elemental knuffel only!
-every level up divisible by 10 grants a bonus of 1k :food:
-when you give up a knuffel for adoption, you get 100 : food: per level.

So a level 11 knuffel would give you 1k when you passed lvl 10 and 1.1k when you gave it up for adoption.

A level 36 knuffel would give you 3k from levels (1k each @10, 20, and 30) and 3.6k from giving it back to Knufftropolis.

Since it is much faster to level up knuffel to lower levels than it is to the higher ones, if you want to make food via knuffel raising it is easier and more efficient to do so by repeatedly raising them and returning them at lower levels than it is to raise them all the way to lvl 100.

Comparison:
50k xp needed for lvl 100. Cost of knuffel =2k, gain is 10k from levels and 10k from giving it up, total profit of 18k.
~4.4k xp needed for lvl 30. Cost of knuffel =2k, gain is 3k from levels and 3k from giving it up, total profit of 4k. Repeating this 11 times is 48.4k xp, and 44k profit.
So more than double the profit for still less xp than raising it all the way, once.

There are undoubtedly other cut off points and I am sure if you graphed it out the peak of efficiency is probably not at lvl 30 but that's sort of just where I ended up as my default.

So when I get regular knuffel still available in Knufftropolis, I like to raise them to 30, donate them back, and then get them again before properly raising them all the way to lvl 100.

Moi, me dear, never study particle physics!

Also, re: your dad, I view family members getting older and sick in a weirdly positive way; it's like, the alternative to alive is dead, so the fact they are sticking around long enough to get old and sick is so much better than the alternative. I am so grateful they are here to be old and sick, you know? Plenty of people don't even make it to that point. They die young and healthy and everyone calls it a beautiful tragedy and gets all dramatic about it and I am in the corner mad at them for being a wimp and checking out early instead of taking on the hard job of getting old. It's not logical, obviously, since mostly people don't get a choice of when they die, but every time one of my Elders complains about some new health thing I am always just grateful they are still there to complain

That's very interesting Aki!
So it's 100 FPs per level when you release them...
Hmm...
I knew you got some FPs but I had never considered how many.
I really never give up knuffel, I just hoard them xD

Making some maths here could be some fun during my holidays - right now I'm too busy to even consider! - but it's something that I might do,
I've never thought of my knuffel in terms of FPs, but since right now I'm completely broke I might reconsider it :mclaugh:

Also if you want to make a profit, old knuffels might be worth a lot too.
It would prove hard to quantify I'm afraid, but maybe keeping them for a while would be even more profitable than the give-up-and-readopt method...

About health, I do agree to a point.
For regular issues, yes, it's definetely better being sick than being dead.
In Moi's father case, definetely. Has a life, has a family, has a job. Health sucks but there is much to live for.

But in some other cases, well, things are more complicated.
For example, lately my grandma (86) does not want to live anymore. She's been like that since my grandpa died, a year ago.
There is nothing in her life that really fills her, and very little that brings her joy.
Right now she's reasonably healthy (for her age) so she keeps going on. But if the health fails, if living were painful, I would understand that being alive were not so attractive anymore...
