I had a randomly funny thought.

Maybe the reason we aren't having a "doughnight" event is because Firn got ambitious and wanted to do something new and big and grand and it got too much and so she couldn't finish in time.

I don't know how often I've shot myself in the foot like that, and it just struck me as really funny to think about other people doing the same thing.

(The really bad one was the time I finally figured out what I wanted to give my brother a week before his birthday -and then it took me 8 months to make it, and by the time I finished he'd grown so much he couldn't wear it. That was so sad. It's when I told him I wasn't making him anything else with such elaborate embroidery until he was finished growing! He's almost 40 now and I still haven't replaced it.... but then, his tastes have changed a lot since middle school.)

Saying "I told you" never helped anybody.
But still sometimes we are so frustated we say unuseful things, or even wrong things, because our own frustation does not let us be relly supportive.
I know I do that, I wish I had not said certain things in certain moments to my son, only to realize I had better kept my mouth shut v_v

I dunno, I would think that by now Firn knows how much they can do for an event.
But life is complicated and it has to be the both of them (art + programming) to have an event.
If for whatever reason starkad is out of town, she can't do it on her own. So something as an unexpected work trip can wreck an event.
If you think about it, it's something very fragile.

It's funny to hear so many people suddenly speak of dental issues at once. My grandfather was at a dental surgeon's today, too, but I don't know if they were able to do anything for him or not because last Saturday he had a fall and half his face is so swollen it'd be hard to work on his mouth until it heals...
My grandfather's pretty tough though, so he was in good spirits as of yesterday.
